I have been out of it for three days. I know this is very bad behavior. Two days were just me getting busy with life. Yesterday I was out sick. DO NOT EAT AT MCALISTER"S DELI in Destin.:puke:
But I'm on it today, I might have to go easy so I don't fall over.

I started this on July 6 so I'm coming up on 30 days though I have missed about 6 days in there so I'm really 24 days in.

I can report a great increase in strength and endurance. I have increased the weight that I use, the reps that I do and can actually complete 7-10 plank pushups. Also riding my bike on the trainer for 30 minutes.
Lost 6 pounds and 3 inches overall. My arms are getting definition back. I LOVE THAT!

I have been using a program called Tap and Track on my Iphone to track everything I eat. I have done this in the past with a PalmPilot program and had great results. It keeps me from consuming too little protein, too many empty calories or carbs. My problem has always been eating too little throughout the day, not getting the protein or eating too much fruit which puts me way over on sugar. This program is not as good as the one I had on the pilot but it is pretty good.
I told my daughter about doing this. I told her that I didn't log verything I ate one day, you know what that means? It means that ate so badly that I was embarrassed to even show myself what I had done! :bang:

Time to push play!

You are really kicking butt. Don't worry about the 3 days. Sometimes, I think it is your bodies way of saying, "give me a break". The body will find a way to rest. One way or another. The biggest issue I see most of the time is people push themselves too hard and burn out. Feel good about your mini break and hop right back in! Just push play and go through the motions! You are really doing awesome.

I just ordered Power 90! This is a result of being called fat and stupid a few days ago.

I am really tired of people walking through our yard to get to the private beach walkover that our neighborhood pays for. I nicely told a group of people starting to walk down our driveway in order to cut through to the beach that, as the sign says, this is a private road with a private beach access. They said that the sheriff told them that it was okay. I told them nicely that said the sheriff was wrong. The apparent father in the group got right up into Big D's face and bulged his chest out, as though to try to start a fight. Big D just looked at him in amazement, and I told the guy that he's a lot taller than you. The guy said that he might be shorter, but at least he's not fat like we are. Then he said that we obviously have low IQs if we thought we knew more than the sheriff's office. I told him that's not the case because we both have Ph.D.'s. He wouldn't let up -- kept snarling at us with his upper lip curled and teeth gritted. Finally his wife and daughter were so embarrassed by him that they talked him into dropping it.

I cried. It really hurt my feelings that someone called me fat and stupid. I know the latter is not true, but I do need to lose some weight after having two family members in the hospital and/or nursing home since April and only having time to pick up fast food.

That's really awful! I'm so sorry. :sosad:

I'm sure that even though your rational brain knows the guy was a mean-spirited jerk, it still makes you hurt some. Feelings aren't based on logic.

On the brighter side, maybe you will get healthier than you've ever been as a result. Karma is a cool thing.
I've been following this thread, got inspired, and am about to start Power 90 on Monday. Wow, tomorrow!
Meanwhile, I'm sending positive thoughts your way! :D

I'll have to take a look at that Power thang. thanks ya'll for helping motivate me and others!

I opened the box and actually read the information this morning. After my usual weights and treadmill workout, I popped in the DVD.

I lasted 5 minutes, but I hadn't eaten yet and I already did 45 minutes and I think I was just tired already....I hope. I will try it again in the morning. It seems simple enough, just a different learning curve. In that five minutes, I can already feel muscles I hadn't felt before. I am not sore, I am just aware that something else got worked on.

I am excited. I went to the grocery store and bought lots of fruits, veggies and lean meat, ie: chicken, fish and shrimp. And I am drinking lots of water. I feel thinner already!!!!

Keep it up! I think the first two weeks of a lifestyle change are the hardest.

Sorry you got sick. But if you had Phenergan IV in the hospital, that stuff is awesome.

Congrats on your progress weight-wise!

Tap and Track sounds great. But I don't have an iPhone. I've seen websites that help you track your calories with a large database of name brands and spedific restaurant items, but not one that tells me if I've eaten the right variety of food items. Does anyone know of a website or an app that works on Windows XP that does this?
