Love Meryl Streep - hated this movie. The Julie character was whiney and boring, boring, boring. Streep, however, was so good. We thought this movie would have been fabulous with lots less Julie and more Julia.

I totally agree. Every time Julie came on I glazed over. She was some how shocked that Julia didn't like here blog. I noticed from the beginning that she flat out stole lines from Julia Childs. Such as, "You can never have enough butter" She used that line in her blog and Julia has said it ages ago on her cooking show. Most writers, like Julia, aren't to impressed with plagiarists.

It's not a movie that's a must see in the theater. I would still recommend seeing it though.

I read the book yesterday (after seeing the movie Sunday) and HATED it!

Julie Powell is SO annoying and whiny - I have no problems understanding why Julia Childs hated the blog.

Scooterbro started reading the book (he's a chef) and disliked it even more than me - he stopped after the 2nd chapter!

Another of her better movies was Bridges of Madison County, but I'm a Clint Eastwood fan also.

That would be Out of Africa for me.

She is being interviewed regarding a new movie with Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin. Sounds funn, but she needs to call 911 regarding her hair.
WE saw the trailor Sunday...it looks hilarious!

Streep was too much funn in Julie & Julia
I did not read the whole book, Scooty...maybe this is why? I got through one chapter and quit. The movie was good because of Streep. I laughed so much during her scenes! I even cried some :D
I loved her in Mama Mia! SUCH A FUNN MOVIE!
