When it is a choice between the life of the mother or the baby, then it should be left up to the mother.
HOWEVER, cases where the mothers life is in danger represent a TINY fraction of all the abortions performed in this country. This is a very, very weak argument for keeping abortion legal.
What were they wrong about??
religion and the military in the same sentence...nice. how about korea, vietnam? you still think iraq was about 9/11. what are we doing in afghanistan? what's the goal? It's a good thing only a very small fraction of the populace thinks like you. Imagine where we would be today if most American and European men walked your walk in 1915-1918 or 1939-1945 or 2001-today. Pacifism doesn't work unless you want to be overrun by dictators and thugs.
Unfortunately, there is a lot of evil in the world (both in our own neighborhoods--thats why we have the police--and in other countries--thats why we have a military). God bless the men and women and uniform (both locally and nationally).
not worthy of a replyWooden teeth, slavery, women's rights...
Anyone else???
Slavery, women's voting rights, hygiene. I amazed anyone would even have to ask that question, and like I said, our constitution has been amended a few times. Somebody thought it was wrong. Who's logic skills are weak on this one?
the word genocide did not appear in the constitution either. how many slaves did george washington have at mount vernon?Did you know--
That the words slave or slavery do not appear in the Constitution because there was a tremendous amount of friction over slavery at the time our country was formed. There are references to in the 3/5 person clause, the right to restrict the trade and the reference to the someone held to service that escapes to another state. However, the constitution did not make slavery legal. The amendment was added to make it very clear that slavery was not legal once everyone got their heads screwed on straight.
That the original Constitution does not guarantee anyone the right to vote--not men, women, whites, blacks, etc.? That was to be left up to the states to decide. The 15th and 19th amendments clarified that the right to vote could not be denied based on sex or race. However, the constitution still does not give everyone a right to vote.
The amendments seem to be clarifications made to the original constitution, not corrections of previous egregious errors.
Read it through in detail.

I typically avoid this issue but after raising daughters and having all their friends over to the house over years am told that I don't get to decide what a woman does with her body. I am told this issue should be off limits for fat white guys to decide.
