Has anybody else noticed a huge increase with your electric bill this year . It seems to be up 50-60% . Nice time for this .
The hits just keep on coming !!!!!

perhaps we should all save on elect by turning lights off when not being used and turning a/c off when noones home. ive done all and more and my bills are much less. and the more people move here the more chelco will have to invest and the more we'll have to pay.

If it makes anyone feel better about it, the same thing has happened in Houston. Right after hurricane Ike there was a month they estimated and ever since prices have been between 40% - 50% higher.

To their credit, Chelco sent out letters last winter telling us that our bills were going to go way, way up. It explained how they were phasing in the increases, and gave estimates of what you could expect.

Our increases have actually been pretty much in line with their estimates - now, we did have a wicked hot end of June./beginning of July, so our most recent bill was actually lower.
