I took the birthday boy to the Red Bar, we had dinner on the outside deck and the weather was perfect. People we didn't even know were buying him drinks, lots of them!! I made him a home made b-day card which I made personal and sweet, made him brownies with ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream. We bar hopped and came home and danced! We had lots of fun and he felt special on his special day. Perfect!!

I'm glad it was a special day! You know any man born on the 29th has to be a good 'un.

No power tools, no electronics and yes to brownies....virgin. He's got all the tools he needs, all that was missing was making him feel special for his b-day and I think I accomplished that without tools. Brownies were the tool....LOL

...you were right to stick with the brownies, since he's apparently not a real "tool guy." Real "tool guys" secretly harbor a man-crush on Norm Abram; and there isn't a "tool guy" on the planet who has all the tools he needs (if he says he does, he's lying).

FYI, never (NEVER!) attempt to buy a real "tool guy" a power tool as a surprise gift unless you have all the exact specifications--which will have to come from him--thereby not making it a surprise any longer, but will save him a trip back to Home Depot to return said gift and purchase the proper tool with the required horsepower.

Good decision. Buying a man a bf power tools, would be like buying a gf a blender. Excellent choice. If it had been me, would've been very satisfying. Prefer cc cookies, tho'.
