There are always places to go and things to do for the little ones and the adults but what about the teenagers who are too big for trick or treating but not old enough for the adult parties, but still like to put on a costume and have some fun. Is there anything going on that they would enjoy? Mine are 15 and 17. :dunno:

Halloween for teens

I heard the Rep is doing Improv that night at 9 PM.

I've got a group of five 18-year-olds for that weekend, so we'd love more ideas, too.

Then have them check out the Trunk or Treat at Pt. Washington UMC on the 28th....the Youth Minister Paul will be there and his group is awesome. Actually they meet on Weds and Sundays, so anytime they need something constructive to do.....Mr. Paul's the guy to see!

Thankyou but I have lived in Sowal for almost 30 years so I am aware of what goes on around here and I really see no need to turn this thread to drugs just because I mentioned teenagers. Kind of took away from the whole point.
Sorry, didn't know you were a long-time resident.

When our daughter got that age, we'd just host a party for her friends. I'd make a batch of chili, serve chips and salsa, and the easiest Tex-Mex dip on the planet. Oh, and brownies.

Also, her school hosted a Fall Festival on Halloween weekend. The teenagers would organize games for the little kids, a haunted house, and a Halloween bake sale. The teenagers really enjoyed entertaining the younger kids. Note that she has a black skirt under her costume. She's 6'3" tall, and the headmaster said that her costume was too short.

Easy Tex-Mex Dip

This recipe is from a dear friend. The first time I served this dish, someone told me that he couldn’t go on living unless he got the recipe. I was embarrassed to give it to him because it is so easy.

1 (8-ounce) package low-fat cream cheese, softened
1 can of chili, preferably Old El Paso
1 to 2 cups shredded low-fat Tex-Mex cheese
2 green onions, chopped

Spread cream cheese in bottom of pie plate. Pour chili on top. Sprinkle with cheese and garnish with green onions. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips. Serves 6 as an appetizer. Or 1 if Richard is there. LOL.

BR, we basically have always done the same too. My son's BD is Oct. 29 so it ends up being a combination party. But the teenagers always have so much fun gathering at someone's house for a costume party, stupid games, food, etc. Last year, they threw together a scavenger hunt. Which meant they still were able to run around in their costumes but weren't actually trick-or-treating.

I think if you can provide a location, teenagers can find something fun to do during Halloween. Just have snacks & music.

(Cool pix of your daughter, BR.)

Thanks for the recipe for the Tex-Mex dip--I'm going to fix that tonight.

Gotta to go check out the Haunted Asylum. We did a lot of work to make it scary. Yesterday's feedback was very positive and they had a great time. It would be a great thing for a teenager to do at least for some of the night.

Here is the info...

The South Walton Montessori Academy and South Walton Fire Department have put together an awesome Haunted Asylum Haunted Trail. Yesterday was our opening night and we had great feedback. We have a few familiar families come through...they had a great scare!

If you have time please come buy and support our school and fire department.

Haunted Asylum
7pm to 10pm
South Walton Montessori Academy
By Eden Gardens off 395 North
To get there: take 395 North past Bay Elementary and turn left onto Eden Garden Drive. It is a dirt road and right after the new church on the left. You can park in the church's dirt lot.

Admission is $5 and all proceeds go to SWMA and the South Walton Professional Firefighters fund.
