Sorry, didn't know you were a long-time resident.
When our daughter got that age, we'd just host a party for her friends. I'd make a batch of chili, serve chips and salsa, and the easiest Tex-Mex dip on the planet. Oh, and brownies.
Also, her school hosted a Fall Festival on Halloween weekend. The teenagers would organize games for the little kids, a haunted house, and a Halloween bake sale. The teenagers really enjoyed entertaining the younger kids. Note that she has a black skirt under her costume. She's 6'3" tall, and the headmaster said that her costume was too short.
Easy Tex-Mex Dip
This recipe is from a dear friend. The first time I served this dish, someone told me that he couldn?t go on living unless he got the recipe. I was embarrassed to give it to him because it is so easy.
1 (8-ounce) package low-fat cream cheese, softened
1 can of chili, preferably Old El Paso
1 to 2 cups shredded low-fat Tex-Mex cheese
2 green onions, chopped
Spread cream cheese in bottom of pie plate. Pour chili on top. Sprinkle with cheese and garnish with green onions. Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly, about 20 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips. Serves 6 as an appetizer. Or 1 if Richard is there. LOL.
