It is impossible for humans with their innate wisdom and infinite knowledge to have any negative effect on the environment.

Humans excel at altering the environment. Altering the global climate, now that is a whole other story and the point of this whole brew-ha-ha.

The environment is the totality of our surroundings, a negative effect on any part would affect the entire system.

I'm somewhat in the middle on this whole argument. I hope those who claim our actions have zero effect on global weather are correct and we can go on with our selfish ways and those who disagree are wrong. The biggest problem with this is most in the climate sciences community believe that more than 200 years of fossil fuel burning, clear cutting/burning forests, dumping manufacturing waste into our waterways, poor farming practices, and other human activities have taken a toll on our planet and its weather patterns. Since this is their field of expertise I will respect their opinion but hope they are wrong.

Another way to go would be to have so much hatred for one man I would claim it is all one big leftwing conspiracy and discount anything that contradicts what I want to believe. I would also take the word of an Oklahoma Senator with a degree in economics over those with careers in climate science.

I think I'll just keep an open mind and realize I don't have the answer and hope those studying and working on the matter will discover the truth and then we will all know the answer.

Are you being facetious? Just asking, but I agree with the direction of your reasoning. I think the earth is capable of taking care of herself and she goes through cycles, some longer than others, but never a constant.

I do not think humans are a cause of any global warming. I find things like the hole in the ozone always over or near the S. Pole interesting. At one point it had split into two smaller holes. I think it's quite plausible this hole is there so we and the earth do not die from gases produced from cows and others.

For every argument, there is an equal and opposite argument, however......makes life interesting, I suspect.

How is it we can be the only "chosen" being on Earth destined for an eternal afterlife, but we can't possibly have an impact on the Earth no matter how much we pollute?

While the Earth can probably take care of itself, it will probably do that by simply eradicating the problem, us.

I just believe the Earth is more powerful and has survived many harsh cycles already. Maybe Mother Earth will eradicate us, but I doubt it. I think man will eradicate man. In any event, I find this topic fascinating to research.

So if I understand your argument correctly, the camp that has not gobbled up the anthropogenic climate change theory is occupied exclusively by know nothings and hacks? If that is your understanding of the issue, what can I say? Will it make you feel any better that the three credit hour meteorology course I took in college constitutes more formal climatology training than that undertaken by 'the hated man'?
