So if I understand your argument correctly, the camp that has not gobbled up the anthropogenic climate change theory is occupied exclusively by know nothings and hacks? If that is your understanding of the issue, what can I say? Will it make you feel any better that the three credit hour meteorology course I took in college constitutes more formal climatology training than that undertaken by 'the hated man'?

I have a green screen and a gorilla costume, would you be willing to do Gorilla Weather?

Who is the 'hated man?' And, who is the Senator from OK?

:dunno:

The hated man is Al Gore.

A good find to bolster your argument, but if you think about it, a terribly flawed conclusion. The authors not so subtly discount the opinions of petroleum geolgists implying that their admitting their product and lifeblood heavily contributes to climate change is biased. Yet, 97% of surveyed climatologists (97%! Saddam Hussein didn't even enjoy that level of consensus on election day!:rotfl:) who depend on research dollars agree that humans are causing global warming. Is there no room for opinion bias on the climatologist's part? If they are so certain I imagine they could stop doing global warming research, right? Don't hold your breath as in academia it will always be 'publish or perish'.

SWGB-I will happily do gorilla weather. I hear that costume is warm and it sure hasn't been warm around these parts in some time.

How can we have built, stripped, changed, paved, polluted, emitted, leached, burned, flooded, drained, and used the entire planet - without any consequences? What happens on the ground directly affects what happens above the ground. I think the people that don't see that climate change is a very probable possibility don't see much beyond what they imagine is their own contribution. Multiply that by the world population and see that we are a mind boggling influence on ALL of Mother Nature.

The "Creationist" in me say that God probably knew in advance of plopping us down on this Earth that we'd be the self-gratifying human parasites that we are, and that He worked it into His plan that he'd program us to exterminate ourselves long before we ever dorked up the entire planet such that future intelligent life couldn't pick up where we left off, and flourish, as they helped the environment return to its equilibrium state. Then again, He could just say to Hell with it all and blot us out of existence with an asteriod strike as payback for our being the sad creatures that we are.

Then again, as the Evolutionist in me counters....perhaps we are programmed to evolve through Eternity such that our bodies thrive on in a more carcenogenic world replete with a completely new form of air to breath (like pollution) and, like trees, we will happliy survive embibing on higher levels of carbon levels; where our organs easily filter high levels of pollutants (chemical run-off, acid rain, radiation-laced spill) from our water source, plus we would probably need to survive on a more limited level of water intake; or where our skin becomes more lizard-like such that we can better absorb (or deflect) the increased UV.

Who knows what's coming?! :dunno: :trainwreck: Of course, we can make our "educated" guesses but, mark my words, either God'll get us if we don't watch out , or shiot will spontaneously happen :banging: and Life as we know it will change. The excitement is in not knowing!:D

Read into it what you will but I repeat, I'm not trying to argue with you because you are steadfast in your belief and I'm not. I'm willing to alter my viewpoint for I don't claim to have the answer or believe anyone has it at the moment.

Oh, and Saddam got 100% of the vote :rotfl:.

Many people for not so clear reasons.

I don't use the word "hate," except for a food item or an intangible. I can think of others that would qualify as the 'hated man' well before Al Gore. Pity that some do think that way. :dunno:
