Walton County can be an absoltuely wonderful place to live or visit. The scenery is fantastic, the entertainment venues numerous and weather spectacular....that is in case you find yourself imprisoned within the county borders by the court system!

I am referring to a family that is struggling each and every day to survive in Walton County. As many locals know, jobs in this neck of the woods are rare these days. The family is enduring dire straits because the officials of Walton County and the legal system prevent this mother of two young boys from leaving - because of the objections of the father who has never accepted the responsibilities of fatherhood. His aim is to reak havoc on the mother of his children and the children themselves. He does not pay support or provide the day to day nurturing elements that a caring parent would provide. The mother sturggles every day to house and feed her children and provide medical care, educational support and spirital guidance while the father...does nothing but obstruct and injure.

It seems odd that a court system, child services or the several other officals that have been requested to help choose to do nothing but close their eyes and ears to the suffering. Let her go! Let her go to provide a healthy and nurturing life for the boys away from an uncaring father and blind judicial system. The children are in immediate need of help and - rather than imprison them - let's support them.

SB, I'm betting there is a lot more behind this than the OP is letting on. While it sounds horrible there are always two sides to every case and right now this just sounds like venting.

The "county" has absolutely nothing to do with this and similar matters. The First Judicial Circuit of Florida, and the 1st Circuit of the Florida Department of Children and Families would have jurisdiction over this matter. The Board of County Commissioners, the Walton County Clerk of Courts, and the Walton County Sheriff have absolutely nothing to do with it. Does it make the original poster feel any better?... probably not; but I'm just saying.

I thought FL was particularly a tough state regarding dead beat dads. I agree: more to this story.

I thought "venting" was the point of the forum? I'm sure there is "more to it", but OP is at least getting it off his chest!

Oh, but we are. I just haven't figured out how to post a comment without making it a reply to another comment.
