You've been insulting and throwing flames on several threads. Read the Rules of forum, particularly:

While debating and discussion is encouraged, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters.
Mango, this is at least the second time I have noted you cautioning (and I use the word reservedly) SaraWind about her posting techniques. For your information, some of us do not know how to add links to the forum. We have managed to learn how to "cut and Paste". Are we to quit posting because we do not have the computer expertise of so many other posters? That was a part of your first "caution" to SW. Now, to the second part of your admonishment. There is plenty of intolerant display on both sides of the spectrum on this board. I have yet to see a left leaning poster admonished by anybody but it certainly seems to happen with regularity to those of us with a right bent.
Now if I may, a suggestion to a moderator. If you wish to censure a poster it is my belief a PM might be a better method. BTW, I hate to see any poster censored because many such posts can be useful and informative.

Oh and as to Sir Paul's remark, those saying it was in poor taste should take a serious look in the mirror. Are you seriously trying to tell me that's worse than some of the hate and vitriol spewed just on this board since Obama was elected?

I am not in the White House that belongs to the American people performing in front of guests and the President. I believe a guest especially from a foreign country, etertaining or being honored in our White House should be treated with respect and they in turn should treat our White House, and our past and present president and our country with respect. I was disappointed to hear that after his "joke" folks attending along with the first family laughed with even some clapping. There are some times that require good behavior no matter what one's political views are and the situation they find themselves in... if that had been Bush and Laura sitting there and someone made a snirky remark about Clinton ...you guys would be all bent out of shape and sqealing to high heaven.

Mango, may I ask you how Lucifer, BOB, SWGB , Poppy and others aren't sent to time out...do you not read their comments. I am taking the above bold statement that you are in charge of this political forum...

From FoxNation:

Rpt.: Obama Wastes Millions in Personal Entertainment
The same hypocrite who says our energy costs must ?necessarily skyrocket? to fund his political ambition, is giving Marie Antoinette a run for her money when it comes to spending national treasure on personal luxuries.

While much of the country is struggling to pay their bills, the President and First Lady are partying like rock royalty. The collection of talent that has made the pilgrimage to the White House to entertain Obama and friends is nothing less than amazing: Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennet, Paul Simon, Marc Anthony, Herbie Hancock, Martina McBride, Queen Latifah, The Foo Fighters, Faith Hill, and recently foot-in-mouth Paul McCartney to name a few.

This has the makings to be the greatest ongoing concert series ever to be seen on this Earth just to entertain one man ? all paid for by the American taxpayer.

Let Them Eat Cake

How much does this world-class entertainment cost? Assuming the artists themselves forgo appearance fees, I highly doubt Paul Simon would perform with just a karaoke machine as backup.

Professional equipment needs to be brought in - sound engineers, stages, lights, etc? Even small scale performances by these artists can be very expensive.

Add booze, food, security, invitations, social secretaries, wait staff, and hangers on to the tab and the price for one of these events could easily top $75K. With over 27 concerts hosted thus far, the total cost to taxpayers is in the millions of dollars.

The executive branch does not provide detailed information regarding entertainment expenses, however, it has been estimated the Obamas spent at least $10 million on ?White House parties? in 2009 alone.

So again no actual facts, just assumptions and possibilities.

They do - everyone has to follow the same rules and you will see people get called out by both the moderators and other posters for not behaving.

And the "if I'm wrong, then why isn't so-and-so getting in trouble too" defense doesn't hold much water among adults.

Dear Mango, I've not insulted or thrown flames here. I have disagreed with other posters. Some don't care for being challenged in their beliefs and strike out. I merely respond as I don't care for untruths being thrown out here on either side. Let me tell you it takes someone with a thick skin to post here that has Conservative beliefs. If you don't have same that's fine with me. But I'm not going to tolerate abuse then be accused of flames and insults when I respond which I have the right to do. I've been told to show proof of my comments but have not seen this happen to one Liberal on the website. Discrimination isn't pretty.

Clinton has been out of the White House for over a decade, but your side won't ever let that one go.

Correction: It was a cheeky comment. The Beatles were known for cheeky comments. Obama reflexively reacted as any human would. In retrospect, I think we should take back the Gershwin award and maybe the knighthood too. This is all Paul's fault... I'm going to burn all my Beatles records and I'm not going to believe him anymore about that "all you need is love" crap. (Ya'll gettin weirder by the second.)

rude? cheeky? doesn't matter what you want to call it Lake View...it was in bad taste. I wouldn't burn those records...maybe you could put them out on Ebay and make a few bucks. :sarc:

There are no hard facts because the executive ( The President) will not or does not have to release such information. Probably because most tax paying Americans would not be pleased. I took the article from FoxNation to be a 'best guess', not written in stone.

Oh my....ten years makes a difference with that guy.ten years means we can't bring him up? He was the golden child of the Dems, he was that silver haired fox, he was , oh that's right...he was.....the president that almost got "fired". I guess bring his name up and using him as a comparison for anything is a "no no" in your rule book, hun?

Oh by the way, can you imagine an X president doing another president's "dirty work"? ..... naw, Clinton wouldn't be involved with that now, or would he?
