Mango, this is at least the second time I have noted you cautioning (and I use the word reservedly) SaraWind about her posting techniques. For your information, some of us do not know how to add links to the forum. We have managed to learn how to "cut and Paste". Are we to quit posting because we do not have the computer expertise of so many other posters? That was a part of your first "caution" to SW. Now, to the second part of your admonishment. There is plenty of intolerant display on both sides of the spectrum on this board. I have yet to see a left leaning poster admonished by anybody but it certainly seems to happen with regularity to those of us with a right bent.
Now if I may, a suggestion to a moderator. If you wish to censure a poster it is my belief a PM might be a better method. BTW, I hate to see any poster censored because many such posts can be useful and informative.
I assume if someone does not know how to post a link, they probably do not have know how to view a private message. SW did know how to post a link. If you do not, just highlight the link in your browser, right click, and copy and paste it. Here is the thread regarding "How to post a link", by Kurt.

Mango, may I ask you how Lucifer, BOB, SWGB , Poppy and others aren't sent to time out...do you not read their comments. I am taking the above bold statement that you are in charge of this political forum...

No, I am not in charge of this forum, just copying and pasting from the Forum Rules.

Look, all regular posters know the rules of the forum and if they get out of hand, as we all have at some point, they are sent a pm or their post deleted by Kurt. If someone is new, we will point out the rules if need be.

I have never seen a mod break out the stick on a lib on these boards because the board is clearly biased.

Either that, or liberals are just more courteous, and have a healthy sense of humor.

Clinton has been out of the White House for over a decade, but your side won't ever let that one go.

SWGB, you miss the point. IF someone said something snarky about Clinton and Bush laughed about it sitting in the White House at an official function it would be disrespectful and wrong. The point should be the lack of respect to the office not the politics of the principals.

Interesting concept. So you think any discussion or criticism of a current or former president should be limited to a critique of their actions or policies?

Not for example: slurs about their birth, false claims about their religion, outlandish claims about their political affiliations, or deliberately misleading or inflammatory statements to get ratings and promote an agenda?

There was a very well done Letter to the Editor in the Defuniak Herald recently. A veteran wrote in to say how offended he was by how people talked about/treated his commander-in-chief and how disgusted he was by the kerfuffle over the VP laying the wreath at Arlington and Obama visiting a graveyard in Chicago.

He made the very valid point that it was not just the veterans buried at Arlington that were to be remembered on the day and listed several other examples from various administrations of when the VP was the one at the Arlington's Memorial Day service.

And closed the letter by giving examples of what Obama has done to truly help veterans - actions and decisions that actively help those who have served and will do so long after the media's interest has waned or shifted. Actions that made him claim that Obama had already done more for veterans than any administration in the last 30 years.

Would love to hear anyone else read the letter and what their thoughts were. It certainly was not info I heard mentioned anywhere else at the time and was much more in the spirit of how I feel that day should be.

The setting makes it wrong. While Stewart is funny and if Sir Paul was a guest on his show and made that remark, it would be acceptable and I probably would have laughed. Same with the various comments about Clinton and interns. But it is unacceptable and extreme poor taste to make those comments in the White House at an official function.
As to the whole Arlington snafu, I don't have a problem with the POTUS on that one.

What about the White House Correspondents Dinner?
