Wrong Again - Sara

He didn't vacation or golf when our country was in crisis.

Wrong again Sallly.

He lied about giving up golf. Guess you didn't get the memo.

In fact, Bush went golfing two months after the bombing the UN headquarters,

Bush Lied About Giving Up Golf: Video Proof

President Bush said with a straight face this week that he gave up golf in honor of the fallen soldiers in Iraq, claiming that he quit after the bombing of the UN headquarters in Baghdad in August 2003:
"I don't want some mom whose son may have recently died to see the commander in chief playing golf," he said. "I feel I owe it to the families to be in solidarity as best as I can with them. And I think playing golf during a war just sends the wrong signal."
Bush said he made that decision after the August 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, which killed Sergio Vieira de Mello, the top U.N. official in Iraq and the organization's high commissioner for human rights.
"I remember when de Mello, who was at the U.N., got killed in Baghdad as a result of these murderers taking this good man's life," he said. "I was playing golf -- I think I was in central Texas -- and they pulled me off the golf course and I said, 'It's just not worth it anymore to do.'"
In fact, Bush went golfing two months after the bombing the UN headquarters, and Keith Olbermann found the video:

Buz - the point of my post had nothing to do with George Bush. The fact that the White House was critical of the BP CEO going to a yacht race while at the same time Obama was out playing golf (for the 8th time since the crisis began) seemed pretty hypocritical to me.

If you want to defend CEO of British Petroleum knock yourself out

No one should play golf Saturday either. :dunno:

But if you want to defend a foreigner's right to stonewall Congress, then hopping on a $700K yacht go right ahead.

I am just a little person on the Gulf.

The Huffinton Post is a most unreliable source of information and Olberman is seriously unhinged. We are in a critical time here on our beautiful coast and Obama is president and has been for the past 18 months. It is way past time for leadership. He has failed the Gulf Coast and all the birds of the air, fish of the sea, and those of us who live, love and work in the Southern United States of America. He has done it on purpose to manipulate this country into passing cap and trade. It's always political with him. That is why his 8th time to golf since the spill rankles.

Obama has kicked enough @$$ and taken enough names in the past week that I think he's entitled to a round of golf. He had me worried for a while, but he came through. Good job Barack!

Wake up folks. Or someday maybe you won't? Assoc. Press on Thursday reports this oil is 40% methane. Worthless to BP. hurry cap that well and move on. Oooppps can't hurry cement it quick bad pressure. BOOOOOOMMMM. down gies rig! Hurry lie lie lie. Disperse it heavy because methane is not only a greenhouse gas but combustable at certain air levels. The biggest H bomb in the world is on the bottom of the Gulf?
Dolphins breathe air yet they die from oily water. Be honest and ask hard questions. If the air is methaned they suffocate!
Same with birds, turtles and Small People!
I pray i'm wrong but if I'm not?

Sorry I'm suffering from Gulf Spill Sydrome. Symptoms constant worrying for all walks and ways of life.
Should we trust the gov't same one that bails out buddies and cuts a 20 billion dollar deal for the death of the Gulf? Trust BP for restitution?
Yep I have Gulf Spill Syndrome and I'm paranoid.
Disperse it, thin it out to tolerable levels. For gods sake do not handle the oil say officials.Let BP pay Small People $10/hr to pick it up. Besides methane some report benzine and uranium too. All the minerals needed to fuel your day provided by the Feds and BP. No charge at all. In fact send us a claim. We will be right on it.
Remember Small People got what?

Please show me in my post where I defended the CEO of BP and stated that no one should play golf on Saturday. Go ahead - knock yourself out. On second thought Buz - just forget it - you completely missed the point of my post and I doubt you will put your political bias aside to have a rational discussion.

Frankly, I think it is pretty childish for anyone to be criticizing either one of these guys for taking a break, of any sort. They both are under incredible amounts of stress, and they are simply human beings, after all. Anyway, in their positions, all you can do is delegate and hope that your subordinates respond with intelligence and diligence. Hand-wringing doesn't help anybody.
