Everyone relax, it will all be taken care of by the end of the day. If not does it means the man upstairs doesn't care about us?

Louisiana lawmakers propose prayer to stop oil disaster - CNN.com

]"Thus far efforts made by mortals to try to solve the crisis have been to no avail," state Sen. Robert Adley said in a statement released after last week's unanimous vote for the day of prayer. "It is clearly time for a miracle for us."[/QUOTE

Frankly, I think it is pretty childish for anyone to be criticizing either one of these guys for taking a break, of any sort. They both are under incredible amounts of stress, and they are simply human beings, after all. Anyway, in their positions, all you can do is delegate and hope that your subordinates respond with intelligence and diligence. Hand-wringing doesn't help anybody.

Exactly - thanks for actually getting the point

The White House should hold Obama to the same standard or keep their mouth shut.

Yes, I think it was petty of Emmanuel to comment on Hayward's yacht fun with his son and everybody already knows all these BP execs need a smack upside their heads before they open their big mouths; but, golf is a work socializing game. Obama was with his Energy Efficiency Mgr. I've played golf with clients in humidity and it wasn't much fun at all. What's up with all the girlie-men in the media? Can't they find more substantial news?

Honestly, I don't care if either of them work from a sand reef, just plug that leak up so we can go on with our lives.

Margarita, I agree with your point.

As someone who voted for Obama because of his intelligence, I am really pissed at him that he evidently isn't smart enough to realize the damage that his presence at baseball games, on the golf course, etc. is doing to folks' perception of him. Too much fodder for the media and his foes.

Margarita you are entitled your opinion.

To me there is a big difference between grabbing your sticks and getting 18 holes in on Saturday afternoon and hopping on a jet to fly back across the ocean to ride around on your $700K yacht.

You don't. Difference of opinion, folks can disagree without being disagreeable.

Sara-

You are not entilted to your own facts.

Regardless of where the video was posted Bush DID play golf when the country was in crisis mode.

You are simply wrong.

Agree to disagree Buz. There may be a big difference in theory but not in principle. I hope you have a great day!!

Actually, I believe we've reached the point where "the media" and "the news" are basically unrelated. There's no place in the media for unbiased reporting and pertinent facts.

They all have constituencies and exist for ratings within their constituency (ie: tell'em what they want to hear.)

People treat their chosen media source almost the way they do clubs or religions. You don't join a club or a religion who's rules or beliefs don't agree with your views (or are just too inconvenient for you.)

Likewise they don't tune in regularly to a media source that reports 'inconvenient' facts.

Bush played golf twice. Eleven months after September 11th then again about 1 year later.

Obama has played 8 times since the oil spill. A lot different.

Bush was mentally challenged, what is Obama's handicap?

Seriously, there is a radio talk host on WWL in New Orleans who has dubbed the two major parties the "demodon'ts and republicant's" exactly because of the above posted BS about who was playing golf, watching yachts, kicking ass, none of which are bad things by default, only when your political rival is guilty of doing/not doing them.

Grow up. This oil spill and response is going to hurt all Americans. If you don't approve of Obama golfing, invest the time spent forum trolling on emailing the White House and letting them know what you think. Then you can offer advice on how to both stop the leak and clean the environment so the golf course does not look so tempting.
