You've done it again: instead of defending Ms. Palin based on the data/info adduced in this thread, you now say "show me the evidence that Palin is what you say she is." That is, again, you haven't defended Palin, you've simply diverted the argument.

The very first post in this thread was a link to her Mama Grizzly political ad in which she says "Moms just kinda know when something's wrong". She didn't know where her cub was when she got pregnant; she didn't know her cub was gettin' back w/ ole Levi. It's hypocritical of her to claim she just kinda knows about her cubs when she's completely in the dark about their activities.

My post today that initiated our back-&-forth was that she originally tweeted that Muslims should "refute" the mosque at Ground Zero. She shows a lack of education by using the wrong word & then changes it to "refudiate," which isn't a word at all, and then compares herself to Shakespeare for making up a word. She is poorly educated & ill informed. It's sorta like using the term "honing in" when you mean "homing in".

These two examples are representative of all add'l info/data adduced in this thread which you obviously failed to read or appreciate.

Sorry to disappoint...not dead, still alive and kicking. Power went off and computer went down in mid thought. Probably a good thing because I was coming up with a thesis for my reply ...but then decided why waste the finger power it would take to write my response and with this group it would fall on deaf ears. So..will just say that this"Mama" thread is nothing more than a SLAM BOOK with Sarah Palin's name written on the cover.

I was the one who called the Palins "media whores". I stand by that. BUT I was also the one who clarified my belief that Sarah Palin has masterfully parlayed electoral failure into success (or at least wealth). And that in my opinion makes her pretty smart- or darn lucky. But not a smart leader. A savy marketer and self promoter, yes..

My main reason for thinking she's not presidential material is no longer that she lacks intelligence. It is that she has already passed a point on the polarization spectrum that makes her bad for the country. She plays to her base by using sarcastic, disingenuous, inflammatory rhetoric. She is incapable of bringing back the other half of the country (I'm being generous with my fractions) who voted against her once in office. And quite frankly, I have concerns that this is now also the case for Obama based on the year and half we just saw.

We need a moderate who holds views common to dems and republicans both. Someone who hasn't won anyone over masses of people at the cost of tainting masses of people. Someone who hasn't been a good democrat or a good republican.

Of course, we should have better luck finding Bigfoot.

What a mess.

EDIT: Meant to say- the answer for the GOP is NOT to move further to the right. Duh!

Oh, I love the girl. She's a looker, too. A lots of politicians have failed at their first attempt to win office then kept on keeping on and came back to win. Sarah's just beginning and just because she didn't graduate college from an Ivy League college doesn't mean she's not smart. She's plenty smart and being underestimated plays right to her. ,

I can provide reasonable support for my argument that she is a smart marketer and self promoter. But can you provide support for your view that she is a smart leader?

The only office she held she quit.

So far in the forest of left leaning trees I'm only hearing that she's good looking (I agree), that she lost her first big election (agree) and that she didn't attend an ivy league school. What's not to love?

Are these things not true? I had understood all of these things to be factual, thereby eliminating them from your list of "insults and character blasting". As to the other items, "media whore" is a phrase used generally to describe people who are consistently putting themselves into unnecessary spotlight (which is a matter of opinion, but could certainly apply to the Palin family) and after a (brief) review of the thread, I couldn't find a single instance of anyone out and out calling Sarah Palin "stupid".



Oh, and for the love of goodness, I'm okay with reading your (somewhat defensive and overzealous) posts, but could you please refrain from bolding and italicizing everything you type? Thanks!

I'm sorry my bold print bothers you...the reason I do it is because with the original post showing a long with the response I find that the person's response sometimes blends into the original note. I find with my bifocals, that the bold print makes is easier for to me to both read and to correct before posting. Since it bothers you I will refrain from responding to any of your posts with my bold print. I am not doing it to offend anyone...just to help myself out.
