It seems with all the cleaning house going on in D.C.(and elsewhere) that there are going to be some mistakes along the way, especially issues that are centuries old.
I was glad to hear an apology was made publicly and it seems good that everyone is discussing the situation.
People involved(2 of them, one being Sherrod) had to live their lives without their Fathers because they had been murdered during the riotous, racist sixties. I grew up with a Father and can't imagine not having had one as a child. In their case, it must have been even more painful knowing their dads were hated enough to be murdered.
This political time bomb has stirred up old civil rights wounds, some of which were never healed, and possibly just now being dealt with on a national level for the first time.
I'm praying for healing in this area specifically for the nation because racism does nothing but promote dissension.
It is ridiculous to judge someone on the basis of skin color, about as ridiculous as judging them according to their hair color. It is so easy to fight and so hard to get along- the easy route is lose-lose, the hard route is win-win. This has to be dealt with so we can move forward and from this as a nation.
What if your thoughts were posted on your forehead for everyone to read. I'm always trying to clean my own house so hatred doesn't hide in the corners of it. Hatred affects the physical body like poison.
