As usual, Matt Taibbi sums it up pretty well in Rolling Stone.(caution: adult language)

Tea Party Rocks Primaries -- RollingStone.com

No, he presents the same old tired leftist talking points that are trotted out every time the political winds turn against them. I am involved in the tea party, have been involved in conservative political groups for years and can tell you the thrust of the vast majority of the discontent you see is about the explosion of government spending and the threat the national debt is to our national survival.
I would agree that Fox sometimes misses the boat on what people care about, although not to the degree that MSNBC, CNN, NYT etc missfire. I personally have turned away because all they seem to want to talk about is the NY mosque. I don't think it is sensitive to the survivors and places Islam in a bad light, but they own the land, if the building is within code then let them go. I for one am tired of hearing it. I want to hear about the real issues: big government and a bad economy.
I can explain why TV outlets emphasizes such things: they are rather easy to understand and simple to explain and usually have visuals to play. Our political discourse these days is too often defined by the content of a 30 second soundbite. You must still go to print media to get cogent analysis of issues. Sadly very few people are willing to take the time to research so they go with the soundbites.

Taibbi calls the tea party "loonies." What about these denizens of the left wing:

I guess these people are in Taibbi's contact list.

you obviously have faith in a divorced, alcoholic, adhd raised roman catholic converted to mormon born again, intellectual lightweight who divides this country over the one media outlet that will allow him to spew race hatred daily , who calls the first black president in our history a racist, and decides to hold a "white suffering" pageant on the very place and date of mlk's famous speech. glenn beck will teach us all how to function? he speaks to you, doesn't he?

As usual, Bob spews!
Obama and his crew sure do take stock in what Beck has to say... they rushed to fire for fear that Beck planned to air a report. Beck has connected a lot of dots between Obama's staff, his mentors, his pre president life... Beck might go about it in an awkward way...but I for one find his chalkboard "facts" both interesting and downright scary. You can go online and check out the connections for yourself, they aren't hiding they are out there. Where is the mainstream media, why do they ignore these "conections." I think because it might be considered politically incorrect because Obama is a black individual and there are things best unsaid or ignored or else it will all be turned back on you and you will be labeled a racist. I have seen that happen to many times since he started campaigning and actually became President. It also happens on this forum all the time....that word is thrown around a lot.

By the way Beck has back off from Obama being a racist actually said he was wrong... after researching his background and upbringing ... I haven't heard Obama really apologize for his professor/cop racist rant other than sipping a beer with the camera rolling. A rather phoney regret on his part.

Leading up to the rally I was really feeling down about my country. I felt like we had no honor. Now that our honor has been restored, I'm walking on sunshine! Whoo-weeee!

If I ever have CNN or FOX networks again, I am going to exercise parental controls and have them permanently off. Ignorance is bliss! :D It seems to really be messing with some of Y'all.

I truly think the cable cos. could be heroes by offering ala carte menus for channels.

So glad I missed all of this~~~~~

Putting your head and your kids heads in the sand...ignoring stuff because it doesn't agree with your politics, only listening to stuff that feeds your opinion...makes for a dull, opinated, person (or child). Don't you trust your children to make their own judgements, to think for themselves, or are you that parent that forces your view on the kids as long as they live under your roof?
