I also found this interesting- the Tea Party Patriot's view of the UN:

This Week In History The United Nations Moves In
It was 60 years ago this Saturday, on Aug. 21, 1950, that the advocates of one-world government and defenders of murderous tyrannies and corrupt dictators got the world headquarters they had sought for nearly a century. The United Nations moved into its new home along the East River in New York City on land donated by the Rockefeller family.
Few remember (and of course history books never mention) that the first Secretary General of the U.N. was the communist spy and convicted traitor Alger Hiss. The pantheon of perfidy committed by this monstrous organization is too vast to describe here. Suffice it to say there has never been an anti-communist leader the organization has not despised and tried to destroy, nor a pro-communist despot, dictator or mass murderer (the three are frequently the same) that it has not applauded and appeased.
Yes, the U.N. serves the cause of "peace"?so long as the word "peace" is understood to mean "the elimination of all opposition to a socialist dictatorship."
?Chip Wood
Do you think it is time for the United States to relieve its self from the U.N?

Walton County Tea Party Patriots

Yes that is interesting. An honest appraisal that you will not see in the mainstream media but true nonetheless. We could save millions by giving the UN the heave ho.

The poll does show that the tea party is not a monolithic group of robots, as my opposition to Scott, Commander and Roberts was posted prior to the election. I also favored Bondi over Benson.

I never knew the Tea Party had any policy regarding the U.N. and I'm not sure they officially do, but it it is true they think we should leave it, good for them.

Right here!
I heard the other day that the 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council are also the largest arms dealers in the world. An article here repeats it:
The Arms Trade is Big Business ? Global Issues

Does this say something about the UN, or mankind, or both?

We all have lots of stuff we consider valuable, and we want to keep our stuff. So yes, it does say something about mankind, and what it says isn't very kind. But life on this planet has always been this way. I blame Darwin.

To the best of my knowledge the local groups in this area receive no funds from anyone outside and certainly take no direction from any umbrella group. The local groups are homegrown and seek like-minded people to join them.

But if Freedomworks is funding groups and coordinating; SO WHAT? Does that change the validity of the message or the depth of belief in those who belong and support them? Are left-wing groups the only ones who are allowed to organize and promote theri agenda?

Your questions are borderline insulting in that they hint that the people who belong to the tea party and believe in the mesage are mindless robots controled by the evil Dick Armey. I guess it is beyond belief that anyone could decide on their own that they want less government, less taxes and more freedom.

at the risk of being accused of being "borderline insulting" again...here is more indication that the regular people are not as aware as they might be of the agenda and purpose of those who are bankrolling the movement...because of the deliberate lack of transparency by the corporations and people funding the movement.

The Koch brothers must be laughing all the way to the bank knowing that working Americans are aiding and abetting their selfish interests.

A Republican campaign consultant who has done research on behalf of Charles and David Koch said of the Tea Party, ?The Koch brothers gave the money that founded it. It?s like they put the seeds in the ground. Then the rainstorm comes, and the frogs come out of the mud?and they?re our candidates!?

The billionaire Koch brothers’ war against Obama : The New Yorker

So let me get this straight. George Soros is a community minded philanthropist because he bankrolls liberals and the Koch Borthers are evil incarnate because they fund conservatives.
The article states that the Koch brothers are for less government and less taxes, which is why they support certain organizations like Freedomworks that promote less government and less taxes. This is inherently evil because everybody knows that we need more government and more taxes which Soros promotes as long as loopholes are left that ensure his interests are protected.
What hypocrites.

If you want the other side of the story read this:

American Thinker: Covering up for George Soros

Seems Soros, the NY Times and New Yorker are not all that benevolent after all.
