And the spin starts here...

Andy I know first hand that many of the elected officials you call to complain too know Glenda on a first name basis. She is one of the few sowallers who can walk through our very own State Capital and get recognized by almost every legislator.

Ain't it the truth. And her words are always well though out, wise, and she knows what she is talking about when it comes to local and state politics. You might not agree with her opinion, but she knows her stuff.

And some of us have begged her to run for office- county commissioner, school board, congresswoman, SOMETHING!!

I do not hold anything against Glenda on a personal basis. While she was being part of the political system, I was doing my job to protect her right to do so. I almost always disagree with her point of view. As she said it is her right to express it. It is also my right to disagree with those positions. Thus, the spin starts here... comment. It was not directed at her personally, only her position.
I'm glad she is involved so politically. I was, in Oklahoma, to a small degree, but I admire anyone who decides to be involved in our political process. That includes Glenda, though I certainly don't agree with her political stand or those of many others on this board, for that matter. My right just as it is yours.

.......................

I continue to be amazed :dunno: at how people from all sides can be persuaded to vote against their own interests...

with this lineup, I see education and progress for women and minorities going backward fast and that is sad after all the hard work that has been done in these areas. I am especially appalled to see that Daniel Webster was elected from the Orlando area--he is so right wing and fundamental; I worked in the legislature when he was there, and I don't think there was ever an issue where he was not on the far right fringe. Scary.

Stephen Colbert?s satire on the coming arrival of Rand Paul to Washington to ?lead us beyond meaningless differences, like crushing wage inequality. And his arrival brings us to tonights word - NOTHINGNESS ...?

This clip is brilliant imo!

The Word - Nothingness - The Colbert Report - 11/8/10 - Video Clip | Comedy Central

Rand Paul explains why he opposes rolling back the Bush tax cuts for those making more than $250,000 a year.

?Well, the thing is, we're all interconnected. There are no rich, there are no middle class, there are no poor; we all are interconnected in the economy.?

?We all either work for rich people or we sell stuff to rich people, so just punishing rich people is as bad for the economy as punishing anyone.?

I'd like to see him explain that to a family living in their car.
