Commander's Palace originally opened in New Orleans in 1880. A second location failed in Las Vegas. The third opened in 2008 in Harborwalk Village and is now closed.

Emerald Grande developer Peter Bos blames the economy and the oil spill, and now that the quality of the development has been established having a high end restaurant isn't as important as it was when it opened.

I vote for a good Mexican joint to move in. I would love to drink a margarita and eat chips and salsa while taking in that view!

I'd prefer it fall into the pass, it's like a bad condo from Disney World was dropped next to the bridge.

I am calling BS on Bos. I know that the economy is bad but the Emerald Grande is one god awful tacky building and people just don't want to go there.

David Seering, the pianist/vocalist, is out of a job again. I don't know what else he does. He had opened that piano bar on 30A that was wonderful but not the kind of place people are going to frequent when they visit 30A. It was much more metropolitan. Then he moved to Commanders Palace. Never stopped there.
We do visit the church he is involved with on 30A. Ellen

Dang! I missed it. The food at the one in NOLA was wonderful!
