I'm not one to repeat what I hear, so you better listen the first time.
If you don't have anything nice to say, come sit by me.
That'll learn 'em (this one recently became very dear :D)

roger that.
Big 10-4.
Affirmative.

(remember the cb radio craze in the 70s? what was your handle?)

Some of my kids use "roger," "affirmative," "stand by," etc. because the military folk use them.

I tell one of my dearest boys not to call me Roger, and he breaks into the spiel from "Airplane:" "Roger, Roger...what's your vector, Victor...?" Makes me laugh every time.

Nope...you lost me...:dunno:...and I'm pretty sure that ignorance is bliss.

And that puts me in a mind of another story...

(Not really--I'm done. I just wanted to say "puts me in a mind of.")

Not really, just wanted to use the expression "you know why".

Well, we both know LuLu is special...and groovy! ;)

That she is.:D
Y'all are groovy!

"Far out!"

Also, "Heavy, man" with head nodding.
I was going for, "Far Out, Man!"

I hear (and say) these all the time.

damn Skippy!

:lolabove: Love this... classic Lula (Evanovitch's Stephanie Plum books).

"Crazy as a peach orchard owl".

My ex's very proper English grandmother used to say this (and then tee-hee behind her hand in a twinkling & charming way).
She never explained the meaning... but we imagined it was related to "Sister get-Ting cahrried away tip-Pling the eldaberry of a Sunday ahfternoon".
