Some of my kids use "roger," "affirmative," "stand by," etc. because the military folk use them.
I tell one of my dearest boys not to call me Roger, and he breaks into the spiel from "Airplane:" "Roger, Roger...what's your vector, Victor...?" Makes me laugh every time.
