yes auxiliary heat is on ( it says) thermostat says 62. Inside thermometer is 66.look in the air handler at the heat strips...one of the elements could be broken and you are not getting auxillary heat. is the aux heat indicator light on at the thermostat?
It's a three dig nightUsually the auxiliary strips will just help the heat pump. If there's any warmth then the unit is working, but with the cold it may not be able to keep up.
you may only be getting heat from the strips if the outside coil is frozen from low charge or no reversing valve action. ice on the outside coils will happen if that's the case.Usually the auxiliary strips will just help the heat pump.
