I was getting out of the military in 1972 when Nixon was was re-elected carrying 49 states after the watergate break in. The republicans were trying to subvert a national election and it was perfectly fine with many Americans. Of course the hearings came the next summer and they were forced to face the facts. Here we are fifty years later. republicans have not and will never change.

My own mother cried when Nixon resigned. The state of denial stayed with her forever. I realized that right then was the time to disregard friends and family when it came to forming political opinions.

My mother was a republican to the grave. I honestly can’t tell you how she would have felt about trump. She was very religious so I would hope her deep faith in God would have meant more than party.

My mother would not have been able to separate herself from the Republican brand. I mean she thought Sean Hannity was a warm likeable guy, Rumsfeld had a great sense of humor, and Dubya was a New England moderate. My dad was more in touch with reality, but still voted for Dubya. I think my dad would have had trouble with Trump because of his sexually deviant behavior. His sister had been molested by their grandfather. Sis would have never forgiven my dad for supporting Trump. I think my mom might have been on the fence about Trump, but my dad could have talked her out of it. Then again my dad probably would have been in favor of the wall. People are complicated.

Rick Santorum said trump would concede if certain conditions are met which every thinking person knows is a ludicrous proposal.
The alternative is pardons. There have always been rumors of trump pardons for his family, friends, and even himself. Now that this is a real possibility I’m curious how this would work. Is it possible to issue a blanket pardon? How about a pardon for crimes where no charges have been brought?
I guess he could have a list of possible crimes that he is issuing a pardon for, but that would seem to be more of a guilt list which is comical.

The delays in announcing a winner in this election is just another modern world, instant access to information reason to eliminate the electoral college or change it to a proportional system. Over 145,000,000 Americans voted in this election yet only 538 actually determine the outcome.

Doubling down on every stupid idea or instinct he's had in his life has caused a lot of failure and caused us all a lot of pain and death. Unfortunately the pain and death part it isn't over.
