Name me one Democratic gun control proposal that you think is unreasonable. Do you think being opposed to "concealed carry without a permit" is too high moral ground?
Just stop with the politics and focus on the children please is what we all should be saying to each other. Not who has the moral high ground. I agree with you but I am tired of not doing anything. The only way to remove a stump is with a shovel. Most Democrats have probably never dug out a stump with a shovel. I have many times so the work of dealing with a stump does not bother me as much as you probably.

Before you get all huffy on me, I am merely pointing out that the Democrats are proposing gun control legislation and have been doing so for decades. The Republicans have been opposed to ANY gun control for more decades than that. You call this politics. I call this reality. I also call this insanity.

Here’s the reality: Even if the Republicans did give in on some common sense gun control, it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. The problem is the entire gun culture that has run rampant in this country. Christmas cards with AK-47’s, really?!
What passing even some small common sense gun control laws would do would be to say that the US government does not condone senseless gun idolization. It would be one small, symbolic gesture just saying stop the senseless insanity. But one party doesn’t want to stop the sale of insanity.

That has become my point. The gun culture is not going anywhere. Therefore we have to build barriers around our schools which have to be paid for. Increase the taxes on gun sales to pay for it. We have to
Make schools safe! Arguing with a stump is not working. So time to grab a shovel. Everyone should know how to use a shovel :).

I've never dug a stump, but then, I was shown how to pull it with a truck or backhoe.
I figured as much! You need to learn how to use a shovel. At least in a political sense. I have 3 children and I raised them all to know the value of hard work. You are too dependent on everyone agreeing with you. Grab a shovel every once in while. It may help you be more open minded. Once the soreness goes away :)

Enough with the stump analogy. (You know there are chemicals you can pour on a stump to accelerate its decay.) If you think fortifying every school in America is the answer to school shootings, then insanity has just won the day. No other countries in the world have this gun culture. None. I know it would be a very long, long process, but the Federal Government could pass some gradual gun control measures that simply reduce the availability of assault weapons, just to signal to the citizenry that weapons of war are not acceptable. It may be a somewhat poor analogy (but probably better than digging a stump) but America has shown that public awareness campaigns have worked on, at least, two major public health issues, smoking tobacco and seat belts, to reduce senseless deaths. Just something to think about while you are getting blisters digging on that stump. I'll get the truck keys.

An idea that has been put forth before is to require liability insurance for all guns.
Republicans sure don’t mind insurance making homes unaffordable. Just ask DeSantis.
My wife and I saw it coming which is one of the many reasons we sold and moved to a condo.
I may have posted before but our flood zone X home went from around $4000.00 +/-annually to $8400.00 plus $799.00 for flood insurance.

The recent listings of various properties makes me wonder if the great exodus is about to take place.

Love that the solution to our insurance problem was to MANDATE the purchase of more insurance. Remember when Republicans were going to die on the cross rather than be forced to buy health insurance?
