Bill Clinton coming Monday to Destin
July 30, 2007
By Florida Freedom Newspapers

For most of Monday, Harbor Docks restaurant owner Charles Morgan was giving odds of 70-30 that former President Bill Clinton would visit his establishment.
By that evening, the odds had gotten much better, as Clinton's advance team nailed down plans for an exclusive fund-raising event on heavily Republican turf in Northwest Florida.
"Somebody asked 'How did he know how to find y'all?' " Morgan said. "I said, 'Hey, if you're looking to find Democrats in this area, it's not too hard.' "
Only those who produce a check of $2,300 or more will be allowed inside Harbor Docks for the Hillary Clinton fund-raiser, said Toni Craig, who chairs Okaloosa County's Democratic Party. It is scheduled for 8 p.m. Monday.
"I asked, 'Well, what about us poor Democrats?' " Craig said. "At the very least, I'll have my Clinton supporters out at the street."
Clinton's wife, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., leads among Democratic presidential hopefuls in Florida, according to poll results released Friday by Mason-Dixon Polling and Research.
She won't be at Monday's event.
She had support from 31 percent of the state's Democrats, compared to 17 percent for her closest rival, U.S. Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.
Florida's presidential primary is Jan. 29.
The former president last visited the area in the late 1990s for an Eglin Air Force Base memorial service honoring victims of the Khobar Towers terrorist bombing.
Morgan said Clinton's plan to visit has generated a lot of excitement in the area.
"The response has been very impressive," he said.
Secret Service agents were scheduled to arrive Thursday to begin preparations, Morgan said.
The restaurant owner did not know exactly what the protocol for such events was, and it was unclear whether media would be allowed to attend the event.
"I asked them how long he planned to speak, and they told me, 'He'll go as long as you've got a microphone in front of him,' " Morgan said. "I'm gonna trick him into playing the saxophone."
Morgan has traditionally been successful at luring big-name Democrats to Harbor Docks.
Bill McBride came to the restaurant in 2002, shortly before emerging victorious in a hard-fought Democratic primary and eventually losing to Jeb Bush in the governor's race.
Presidential hopeful and later vice presidential candidate John Edwards packed the restaurant during a 2003 campaign visit.

According to an article I posted, there is more evidence that we need to get the terrorists laid, rather than the ones they are attacking.
I did hear someone yell, "Fcuk Bush!" and I have heard others say, "Fcuk Osama Bin Laden!" so maybe you guys are on to something. Only problem is, who will take on the challenge with Hillary in command?

Sounds like a plan, but where will we find all the virgins???

I thought that maybe you thought I meant that. ;-)

Girl, I think there should be a law that says these politicians and kings, and queens, and heads of states, and rulers.....etc., etc., need "it" several times a week. I think the country would be much better off. You know "MAKE LOVE, NOT WAR". I really believe this statement. Everyone would be walking around glowing with a big ole smile on their face, and maybe we wouldn't have to worry about someone pushing the button, because they would all be in such a good mood. Just my thoughts on the subject.
Alas..."pushing the button" has resulted in many women being in a "good mood". Silly Rabbit.

Unfortunately their religious book promises the virgins after the attacks, not before.

"Born-again" virgins I believe is a term that is being used for condition of mind rather than physical. Of course...I may just be cherry-picking.

I think you are right, but there are now surgical proceedures specifically designed to ...

100 people are hardly a "crowd" down here. There are that many people waiting at the Back Porch for dinner every night at any given time. Also, it sounds like this group included outsiders that are not from around here (Julian Bond?-give me a break!). The "crowd" was hardly reflective of our region.

BTW, since interns still work in the White House, who is going to monitor Bill if Hillary is elected? Seems he would have a lot of idle time on his hands and you know what they say about an idle mind......

100 people contributed to the fundraiser
.....probably another 100 outside

Julian Bond owns a home here.

Julian Bond owns a home here.

So when he said this "I don't see them; they don't see me; we don't interact; we have no relation one to the other" about the poor, he was obviously being literal.

Does the 100 outside include the protesters?

Where is his home? It's not listed.....

Small crowd no matter which way you spin it....

Thank you for taking such an interest in my manhood. By the number of kids I have my testosterone level is just fine. As for Hillary, I really don't think she is half the man she wants to be.....

Yep, somehow I knew that you would equate "real" manhood with the number of children you that have. That pretty much sums it all up. Take Care.

I clicked on Hillary's site, and see that she now has some opinions. The poll results from the housing market must be back. Here is one idea that I agree with Hillary's current "position."

From her site:
  • Eliminate prepayment penalties on mortgage products. Prepayment penalties, which are often used on subprime, Alt-A, and non-traditional mortgages, are a problem for borrowers. These penalties can lock borrowers into loans until the rates and monthly payments escalate. Families should not be discouraged from responsibly paying off their mortgages early, particularly when this would allow them to avoid balloon payments or high floating rates. Studies have shown that loans with prepayment penalties have a 52% greater risk of default than those without. Hillary will restrict the use of prepayment penalties.
************

My only question is which does Hillary want to do? Eliminate or restrict? She begins with one idea and ends with another.

Oh, here is Hillary's answer to winning over the Heartland of America. A warm and fuzzy YouTube - Broadcast Yourself..
She talks about putting pressure on the President to find out the plan to get out of Iraq. Too bad she didn't ask that question prior to signing off, giving the President permission to go to war with Iraq.

Politrics. !!!

Eliminating pre-payment penalties would raise rates for everyone. If banks can't get a good estimate on their return, they'll take an average percentage of loans that are paid off early and increase everyone's rates to offset the loss in prepayment penalties. Most don't charge them anyway. It beguiles me that some believe that businesses eat costs imposed on them by the government. The real way to lower rates is to kill S-O and do away with federally insured money all together.

What is summed up is that you continue to personally attack those who disagree with you. First you call those who post remarks against Bill Clinton as "sanctimonious Bubbas and Bubbaettes" or something to that effect. Then you personnally attack me with testosterone remarks for posting a picture of your nutty candidate (that might work on the playground).

You can always tell when you are winning an argument when the other side starts personally attacking you.

So do you believe it is fair to the consumer that they need to hire an attorney to interpret all of the fine print on the loan packets? I couldn't imagine sitting through a real estate closing where the buyer read the 70 or so pages of legal jargon regarding the sale and disclosures. For that matter, I cannot imagine the closing title company agent sitting through that either. Now a lawyer, on the otherhand, is paid by the hour, and she or he would have no problem with the time on the case.
