I am just finding my way around here and everyone has been soooo nice and welcoming. I have been active on other forums, but this is the warmest one I have ever found. I found it by looking for info on the area, since my daughter will be a resident in Jan.

I would love to get to know the regulars better. So if you will indulge me with where you have lived in your life and now.

And I promise I won't show up and try to sell you a vacuum cleaner :biggrin:


I was born in Halls, Tn. population 3000 minus one. ;-)
I lived there until I went to school at UT, go Vols.
Then after graduation I taught school in the Cleveland, TN area for about 8 years.
Moved back to West TN and have been in Memphis, ever since. :bang:

How about the rest of yall?

Born in Waynesboro, Georgia ....."bird dog capital of the world" also referred to by Newsweek magazine in the 80's as the crack capital :blink:

I know a great family of 7 from Waynesboro; they're some of my bestest friends. Between them and you, that must have been most of the town, right?

What/who's in Tunica? The highway used to go straight through town but I think the new road goes around. :cry:

Bob, we missed the fish fry in Paris. Unless we were going to spend a day at Land Between the Lakes, we didn't go eastward that way much.

There was an awesome strip mall Chinese place not too far from my BIL's place in Mayfield, KY that was probably our favorite local road trip food if we weren't going all the way to Jackson or Paducah.

I would say stop by, but we are heading to the Ozarks for the weekend. Well us and about 200,000 other people! Should be fun though.

Have a safe trip and try to fit in a Cards game while your here, it's starting to get very interesting!!! :clap::clap::clap:

It's awesome to see - that even when they are not very good - they can still pack out good old (well - new now) Busch!!

Yes we live on the lake in Osage Beach MO and we do love it, the best place in MO to live. If we cannot live in Seagrove Beach all the time, but maybe someday, although our children and grandchildren are here in Osage Beach!

Absolutely, Seagrovelover! I have always wanted to meet somebody from this board, when we are at the beach I search and we even wear our sowal shirts! Are you going to be there the 13th of October? We have this Home Owners Meeting that day but I sure want to get there!
