I know a house is only worth what someone will pay for it. And that house is worth a lot! But how in the world is this house worth that much? Even if they got a huge discount, I'm sure it did not sell for less than $10mil. I'm familiar with the home and location, and know how impressive it is. But $13mil+??? Especially in this market! That kind of money can buy a whole heck of a lot of ultra-prime real estate. I know some of you have seen it. What are some of the specs. Solid gold painted walls, or diamond embedded countertops? That is so far out of my league that I cannot begin to comprehend such a pricetag for a beachhome, even as impressive as this home and location are.

In a house of this quality it is not an either/or, it contains both of these.

It is the first rule of real estate. Location. Location. Location. This is on an incredible lot with the best of both worlds, lake and gulf. 'Nuff said. Gorgeous!

SJ-Absolutely love the house and more power to the seller (and buyer). And I don't think there is a better lot in sowal. Besides, that's not what I said. I made no comparisons to other lots in sowal. I simply said that this kind of money can buy a huge amount of real estate anywhere, especially in these market conditions. However, when one can afford a $13mil beach-home, money is obviously not a concern. I'm simply saying that I cannot believe that price!! Nothing more, nothing less. As I also said, I cannot beleive this price tag as it resides in another stratosphere from which I am not familiar. Incedentally, I have always loved the beachfront home up on the western bluff on the west side of the Draper lake outlet.

You would have to have a net worth of a lot more than 13 million to not totally freak out about a 13 million dollar investment sitting right where a hurrican could easily wipe it off the face of the earth. I don't know how rich you have to be though. Maybe 100 million or more? Beautiful place. I'm sure they'll enjoy it whoever they are.
