Okay, back to uneven bars. A tie? Oh please.

This is the second time the scoring has been skewed in gymnastics, but I am giving the benefit of the doubt since who reports is obviously biased.
But a computer program tie breaker??

there is a 33 year old gymnast who is also a mother on the german team. now to me that's impressive.

It's actually not a computer program that figures it. The method is actually fairly simple. They both had the same start value so that could not be used as the tie breaker. You throw out the high and low. They were still tied. You throw out the next low score for each. After that, she was down by .1. Stinks, but that's the process...

Why couldn't they tie? :dunno:

I'd sure as sheet rather share a gold than get a silver and I'm sure Nastia feels the same!

Her story was pretty cool. Her son developed a form of Leukemia. The doctors in her country (one of the old Soviet countries) told her that there was nothing that could be done. She took her son to Germany to be treated. They beat the cancer into submission. She was so greatful that she stayed in Germany and became a citizen.

...and her son is still cancer free...

yeah...It must be a sport by sport thing because in other sports you would have two golds and a bronze. It's like the age thing. Gymnasts have to be 16 in the year of the Olympics; however, there was a 14 year old diver. Different rules for each sport...
