Hope you all are topping your tanks off everyday!!! Gas prices are rising hourly. That $75 fill up will be a fond memory! I remember asking my mother back in the late '50's, when filling up the baby blue Buick Roadmaster, why the bottom numbers on the gasoline pumps went so much faster than the top numbers!! Now, they whiz by so fast it makes me dizzy!

Just paid $2.85/gal at that POS Texico at the corner of 30A and 98! :pissed:

I'm just going to pull a trailer full of gas next time I go down.

I need to win that lottery so that I can buy a scooter that gets 50-60mpg. With a Fuel Capacity of 1.3 gallons, I don't see a fill up ever costing more than $7.

SJ,

From what I've read about you, you probably have more miles on your birks than you do on your car.

Oh, I wish that were true. I have more hours spent in my Birks than my in my automobile for certain. I acutaully have a pair of hiking shoes which I still wear with over 2000 miles on them. Walk to the Beach? no problem.

Seeing that scooter reminds me of a television show I saw the other night. This show gave the town of Greenville, Alabama 200 scooters for their residents to ride around on.

Greenville is a small town in central Alabama and I can only imagine what the travelers would think when riding through town.

Also reminds me of when I almost killed myself on one in Key West.

RO- You'd love that story. :rotfl:

I "test" drove one of those for giggles one day and all I have to say is WOW! If they didn't make such a big deal out of telling you that car is a diesel you would never know. 0-60 in 7.2 seconds ..... :D . From the Nooga we could drive to SoWal, drive around while we are down here, head back home and fill up in B'ham . The car had no smoke, no hesitation, it was quiet and the price (for a Benz) wasn't that bad. If I had Beach Runner's money I'd buy it :D
My husband and I test drove one today. Peeled rubber as we pulled out of the lot. You're right - nice car!

Should I get black (my usual Benz/BMW color) or silver (never had a non-black luxury car)?

Right now I have a black Infiniti. Love it. But if I lived in FL I'd have the silver one. Those are the only colors to buy a Benz or BMW in.

I am sure the silver color will blend nicely into the color of the road, esp in a light fog or rain. I think the only color for a car like that is fire-engine red, after all, you are a Peacock if you are driving that car.
