It's called tyranny of the masses. The founders were worried about factions such as a political party who might choose their interests over the interests of the country. The electoral college was one way to ensure minority rights would not be trampled. Hamilton wrote the Constitution was written to be certain "that the office of President will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications." How could he foresee the disaster that is the modern Republican Party?

Hamilton wanted to centralize power to the Feds,..that in itself is begets our current tyranny...I'll take Jefferson, but neither envisioned the stranglehold of power by those in the shadow government. We've had bad Presidents before. We may have one now. Don't know yet. I don't think he is qualified.

Here's a little perspective. It's not like all the rural voters were just gaga over Trump in this very close election in which Clinton won the popular vote. Over a great deal of our country you will see it's very much even steven, not the see of red some are trying to sell to you.

It's not a disaster..It's an opposing viewpoint to the other out of touch party. the entire old dynamic has been disrupted.

And your day-to-day has changed drastically in what way since the tyranny?.....the sky hasn't fallen yet, HP.
I lived though the "W" years. Many hundreds of thousands didn't. I dread what this unqualified egotistical dumdass will do.

What a tough row to hoe.....have you ever lived in a Third-World country, like you were in a Third-World country, or have you just beached when you didn't get your way so have to speak your version of Tongues to call out the Wiley Devil? I served during both the "W" years so you could be free to talk crap. I lived through many Democratic reigns which were an embarrassment to our country; I notice you all don't mention those good old days much.....

You wanted to know when the disaster started and I gave you my opinion. Dont like the answer? Tough.
You served so I could be free to talk crap? Lots of people serve. Politicians serve, diplomats serve, the police and firemen serve, teachers serve, millions of Americans serve in different ways to make this country what it is but the difference between them and you is they don't suggest they are owed a debt.

The Bill Clinton years were the best and I look back at them fondly.
