Well, you know how we're always asking each other who's going to be down at the beach when we are? Well, if you got a bunch of SoWallers who were there at the same time, you could organise a Moveable Feast!!! Start out with cocktails in one place, then move on to someone else's kitchen for the entree, and finish up with desserts at the last place. You could have so much FUNN with this concept. You could customize it any way you wanted!

I think Sueshore and I should volunteer ourselves to be the first guinea pigs for this. Miss Kitty and I will be in SoWal the 1st week of April and we should do it! What say you, darlin' Kitty? :D
And Jenay and I will tempt you, dear Mermaid, and say we'll host it the week of June 10... :D

Ours may be on the beach...we'll just set up a buffet on coolers! After Dennis, the Western Lake boardwalk ended in the water, and the last part of it wasn't really used, unless you wanted to slide down into the lake on your a$$. Anyway, the part that was still horizontal would have made a great table! But I bet it has been fixed- I hope. I got tired of jumping up and rescuing old ladies and toddlers!

Beach Runner, you're one of those good cooks on the board--how about a Springtime Cooking in SoWal thread when the weather warms up?? There's never too many good recipes (says Mermaid who has more cookbooks and cooking mag subscriptions than anyone has a right to have ;-) ).
Oh, gosh, springtime on a college campus is crazy - students with spring fever who don't study enough and stress out over grades, seniors trying to get all of their capstone work done, etc., and I'm trying to help them get through it all.

Maybe this summer. I am also *months* behind on my summary of everyone's restaurant comments.

BTW thanks for the compliment.

No trouble...I've already tried one of your recipes from Christmas time. We had a such a good run of recipes from everyone during the holidays!

BTW BR, you mentioned a lemon vinaigrette from the Barefoot chick. Are you going to post the recipe, or are you gonna make me look for it the hard way by buying the book!! :dunno:

Lemon Vinaigrette
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons - the $15 W-S juicer really helps)
1/2 cup good olive oil
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Whisk together the above ingredients. Enough for 1/2 pound of arugula (or whatever greens you prefer).

Filed and ready to go. Thanks. BTW- I was in W-S Friday. Everything comes in pink for Valentines. Wonder if there is a pink juicer? I didn't see the need for a pink Cuisinart!

Hold on a minute, jdarg! I have a pink juicer. When you visit on Saturday we can make this salad. My juicer is depression glass, the old fashioned kind that uses wrist power to squeeze the juice out. You'll never guess where I got it! Gotothebeachmom told me about this great place in Panama City Beach called Scavenger's Bazaar. It's sort of like Lily Pads at Grayton Corners. Lots of booths with beachy decorative items, but also a great selection of antiques, including depression glass. I love old kitchen gadgets and goodies.
