Looks like our December SoWal trip is in jeopardy now. We were flying down with frequent flyer miles. Got online last night to book, there are no available free seats on our planned flight. :bang:

Between this travel wrinkle and your selling of New Year's in SoWal, I'm verrrry tempted!

Let me get J-funn (who is under the weather) and Laner on this. You'll be sold. It's a blast! :clap_1:

Frequent flyer miles are going to be even more annoyingly difficult to use now that Delta is cancelling flights to maximize the number of passengers per flight.

Even "back in the day" we called in December to get flights to Rome in late June. There wasn't one frequent flyer seat available to any city in Italy within several weeks of our preferred trip dates. We ended up having to fly to Munich and take a train to Florence, and then on the return trip take a train from Venice to Munich.

I know, it's horrible. My husband and I were talking last night, and he said a friend had just commented the other day that frequent flyer miles have become nearly worthless. What's frustrating is that when we originally looked at the dates and flights, there was availability. Then, went back last night, the seats were gone. We spoke with an agent today, and the agent said it's the DFW/Ft. Walton leg of the trip that's unavailable; the St. Louis/DFW part of the flight is open. Grrrrrr...!

Have you tried the PCB airport? That's where I am flying out of... :dunno: Maybe they'll have something...

Definately easier flying to PCB! You would have to fly into Atlanta. Since that's about the only flight out of PCB.

New Year's is worth it!! Trust me. I am still finding confetti in my shoes from two years ago.

It's even worse when you're actually paying for a trip. You find the flights you want, you wait until your husband comes home from work to see if it meshes with his schedule...and the price has doubled. :bang: We've learned the hard way that when we see a fare we like, we grab it.
