Delta is really hurting themselves and their passengers. Canceling flights, late takeoffs, poor customer service...I know of three families that will NEVER fly them again and this all happened in a span of four days. I am sad to see this happen...competiton helps us all.
Oy, I feel like such an ol'timer when I talk about how it used to be, but we really had it made in St. Louis back when TWA was in full swing, and STL was its hub. The loss of that, combined with all the other airline changes everywhere, it's a hassle now.

We spent 9 hours time getting there flying from DFW/Memphis/Fort Walton Beach and renting a car. Could have driven in 13 hrs.
:bang: My point Ed Zachery!!! My husband has me convinced, living in the midwest, we are 10 hours from almost every we want to be, so we might as well drive.

Man, I hate when he is right!

BTW....GO CARDS!!!!!!!!

Yes, my midwest pals....a big change at STL airport in the past years. As much as we used to "love" AA, it has now become almost like "Big Brother". My husband, who is like a "Kryptonite" frequent flyer on AA, has found it very difficult for us to cash in all those miles. Therefore, we end up buying the tickets and accumulating MORE miles!!! It also amazes us when our relatives in Ft. Wayne, IN can fly to Miami way cheaper than we can on the same day! Repeal Wright, Right now!!! Southwest has my vote! No frills, but what an on time record!!!

Oh, I agree! I guess I'm a gambling woman in that I know it'll take a solid 12 hours to get to SoWal if we drive, whereas with flying, we can probably shave some hours off the trip. And we don't have to do the work. Those factors plus the "bonus" of the free miles. :rotfl:
