Lisa, we were watching last night and I idly commented to Merman that maybe we should apply for TAR. We like travelling, we're game for anything, we have energy to spare...so what does the man do but get on the CBS website right then and there. Talk about putting your money where your mouth is. Waaaaal, I don't know how you did it!!!! Merman said it would take less time to get a government security clearance than it would to fill out the application form. I never saw so many questions (and they all required that you really think before answering, too). My hat's off to you and Joanie for going through the whole process. You must have the patience of a saint!

If you are even considering applying...my advice...DO IT...DO IT NOW! Even if you think you don't have a chance...just do it. You never know. I had NO expectations....never in a MILLION years did I even think I'd hear from them....but I did. You never know what they are looking for so don't be offended or sad that you don't get cast...don't take it personally.......CBS & Jerry Bruckheimer are looking to cast a television show....and I think they have in mind what they are looking for for each season.....Everyone asks....HOW did you get picked? then they talk to me a while....and they know why

Once we were at Finals it was down to 50 teams....when Joni and I first saw the other teams that were there we turned to each other and realized there was NO other team like us....Uh Oh....it was then that I realized we just might be cast for the show. We left finals and still did not know. Two weeks later we get a call from CBS Casting....

Casting : Have you enjoyed the process
Me: It's been one hell of a ride
Casting: Well it's not over yet.
Me: Gordie was sitting across the table and he said all the color drained from my face...."What do you mean?
Casting: Congratulations...You've been cast for Season Nine of The Amazing Race...Be ready to leave in 2 weeks
Me: OMG OMG OMG
Casting: talk soon
Me: OMG OMG OMG

It TRULY was an Amazing experience. What you see is only a glimpse into what goes on....It was SOOOOOO much fun! Especially if you are a fan of the show. Doesn't matter if you are on one leg or win the race. It's more than you could ever imagine....and all you have to do is fill out the forms, make a video and fedex it to LA....

They are casting for Season 13 now...Do it, Do it now...what do you have to loose? What do you have to gain? The Adventure of a Lifetime that will literally CHANGE your life...

If you do decide to apply....call me.

Oh. My. God.! I would die a happy kitty if I could watch Mermy and Merman on this show. Jfunn would pass out from the laughter, too. In fact, I think the Mers should have their own show. This is the most genius idea I have heard in a long time! Do it!

As soon as we heard the call for applications for next season Mr. Lucky immediately looked at me and ran to the computer. We'd love to at least try but it is that same old thing of thinking right away that we wouldn't get picked.
