The winner releases the first CD before any of the other contestants can - I believe before anyone in the top 10 - the rest of the contestants, I don't know about. It is a part of the contract they sign to be on the show. 19 Entertainment has the first rights of refusal on all the contestants. If DC wins, DA has to wait until DC releases his CD before he can. Jordin's Cd came out then Blake's a few weeks later. Blake's has tanked while Jordin's is picking up steam because of Chris Brown.

Luke Menard, 16th place finisher, has been diagnosed with Cancer.

When DA sings Imagine, and say wooohoo, it is vocal heaven! Syesha sounded like that when the bell rang in One Rock and Roll Too Many - her voice hit this pure note. David's tone, while it may be a young man's/boy's, it is strong in his upper register and makes me feel in awe of his pitch.

David Cook, has a growly, man voice yes! OY!

Seeing David C. crying last night was humbling, and even David A. looked a bit overwhelmed after he sang Imagine...

America voted...and I feel it becoming David Archuletta for the WIN!

Why David A. won't win:

1. They want another rocker hit maker!
2. They feel David A. isn't as marketable (hit records) as David Cook
3. His age and maturity - I know Jordin won last year but I think she is more mature than David.
4. Dial Idol says it isn't even close. I know this doesn't take into account text messaging but still.
5. A lot of David A's voters couldn't stay up to midnight on a school night!

For the record, I picked David A before the top 12 in an office pool. You could still pick who would win this week and I changed my pick to David C. for the best performances throughout the season, although I do think David A. came to win last night and was the better vocalist.

Hard to compare apples and oranges, but either way, they are both incredible at what they do! That is why I am so excited this year to go to the concert. I am excited to see 8 out of 10, and the other two I'll liken to opening the show for the rest!

One point I disagree with: the eyes! Look at the eyes in the Jason Castro post!
They are both amazing, honestly! The men definitely had it this year!

I am a fan of both. My 15 year old cousin loves David A and dislikes David C. Its going to be an interesting evening for sure.

I just don't get David A. He's got a good voice, but so do a lot of singers. And I can't figure out what else there is besides the voice- there's no passion, no emotion that comes through in the song for me. It's like he's the male equivalent of a beauty pageant girl who has been coached carefully to do and say the right things but there's an emptiness inside him. Or maybe he's a wind-up robot.

I'm also trying to figure out what a David A. album would sound like, and it puzzles me. When I think of teen an tween music, there's a strong vitality and energy to that kind of music, whether it's to dance to or cry over the boyfriend that dumped you while you're listening to it. Everything is supposed to seem more emotionally intense when you're 16. But I don't feel it in him, and the couple of times he's tried to perform what I think of as 'teen music', he's failed miserably.
