I would buy a David C album before I would a David A. I recorded the show last night and when Ryan asked for the crowd to cheer for both of the contestants, it seemed to me that the younger girls screamed more for David A. Felt bad for David C with the judges though.

David A. is a very good singer but he's got no variety going on. Every song that he sings is pretty much the same with different lyrics. He's gotten this far by singing the same types of songs throughout the entire competition. Proof in the pudding, he's sang "imagine" three times this year!! I like him, seems like a nice kid. I think he's very good at what he does, especially for his age, I just don't see him being a "star" for very long. Maybe one CD and then after that, there's not going to be anything more. David C. is the real deal. He may not have the vocal ability that Archie does but he's sure got everything else going on. Either way, both are getting contracts...then the real competition begins.

Jason is going to sing Hallelujah - I hope they will let him sing the whole song instead of the 2 minutes like the top 16 night. Everyone in the top 5 is supposed to have a duet but he is getting a solo. I wonder if there will be a tribute to Jeff Buckley?

Rumor: Madonna might be on tonight! George Michael - Wham!, will be on too!

Liked David A for the first time last night. I've decided it had to be his song selection. Great choices all around. None of them had any "mushy" "I love ya baby--want ya' baby" stuff in them. It kind of creeped me out when he sang those types of lyrics.
I'm a huge David C fan. I hope he wins, but I'm thinking David A. may have brought it home last night!

There was talk on one of the local radio stations here this morning about who they thought would win American Idol. The DJ's stated that producers don't want David A. to win because he won't be as marketable because of his father having a say so in his dealings. The one DJ even stated that they thought they would find some way for David Cook to win even if David A. got more votes. The only way that could be done would be for them to rig it, and I would hope they would not stoop to that level, but I wouldn't doubt it. It seems like something like that happened several years back, votes on a line for a certain contestant going to the other.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic! It is a reality show, much is edited, manipulated - they have a disclaimer that states they can throw out votes. It doesn't matter to me; I still love the dang show.

I just don't get David A. He's got a good voice, but so do a lot of singers. And I can't figure out what else there is besides the voice- there's no passion, no emotion that comes through in the song for me. It's like he's the male equivalent of a beauty pageant girl who has been coached carefully to do and say the right things but there's an emptiness inside him. Or maybe he's a wind-up robot.

I'm also trying to figure out what a David A. album would sound like, and it puzzles me. When I think of teen an tween music, there's a strong vitality and energy to that kind of music, whether it's to dance to or cry over the boyfriend that dumped you while you're listening to it. Everything is supposed to seem more emotionally intense when you're 16. But I don't feel it in him, and the couple of times he's tried to perform what I think of as 'teen music', he's failed miserably.
