And they sent the wrong girl home, too. I don't get it. The only thing I can figure out about Sanjaya is that he's one of those cute little mascots that everyone fusses over. He has a nice voice, and he's engaging, yes, but he's far too young and can't hold a candle to the competition he's up again. Steeleling1 was right--it should be about raw undiscovered talent, but somehow tonight it wasn't.
Somehow I just do not believe that America has any say in this? Am I the only one?
I think they kept Sanjaya in there for the AI tour, Sabrina and Sundance I think had a real future and why waste their time on a tour.

In Idol, until you get to about the top five, it's better to be memorable than to be good. Sabrina went home because she was just too interchangable with Stephanie, and Hayley not only is the only one left doing country, she also really got slammed by Simon. (Which a lot of times gets someone enough of the sympathy vote that they manage to be safe for another week or two)
With Sanjaya, I've a lot of jokes about him being straight out of Lisa Simpson's 'Non-Threatening Males' magazine.

I am with you. I also change the channel when they make them sing the mostly awful songs as their farewell. If it was me, I'd tell them to STFU and leave the stage.

I hear ya Kitty, that part is just too painful. Can't be funn for them either. I haven't really tried, but I bet crying and singing are difficult to do well at the same time.
