I have been in a 2 day seminar, took a couple of new listings and just got time to post.
Whatever you say, Sanjaya stood tall on the stage despite everything. His song choice was vetoed and ended up singing a bad choice. He had picked "Mercedes Benz" and Ford wouldn't approve it. I would have much preferred him singing that. Many people have been speculating about Simon demanding him off, saying that show had become SanjIdol, that they wouldn't release the actual votes because there might have been a different finish last night and it wouldn't have been Lakisha either. What was said was Chris was the one, they moved Blake over because people were so upset that the VT comments - eye rolling thing, that the only damage control was keeping him, saying Blake was in the bottom 3. If Chris went, reporters would ask him what he thought about Simon's dismissal, eye rolling and dissin! Simon had to do further damage control by making a statement about the incident. There was a cut to Nigel, who had a look of genuine shock
I know you might think this is crazy, but this is what people are talking about with the manipulation of the show. The Dial Idol has been right 50% of the time, it isn't the REAL tabulation, but measures busy signals with large margins of error.
Regardless, it is best he went out now instead of later. I think the Idol Boards went on overload last night, the FANJAYA'S against the world! LOL!
Phil finally got his due! He did sing great! Melinda was outstanding and Jordin sparkled! BTW: the song Jordin sang, she took second place with an another singing competition. I think people need to realize the younger contestants who haven't had a lot of singing experience or familiarity with songs, or the stage, have to work much harder than the seasoned, older idol contestants. For some of them, it's the first time seeing the song!
I hope I can stay up for GA tonight - I'm tired!
