I got my Kindle in November and so far I'm loving it! I dig the freebies and I've been reading the Sunday NYT on it, which I love. Now reading my 3rd novel on it... the first book of Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. Those books are freaking bricks, like 700 pages each, so I'm really glad I don't have to take up any precious shelf space with them.

I love books and bookstores and libraries, and I am sure having a digital reader won't change that - it's a companion to books, just one more way to indulge my habit.

I'm curious to see how it holds up at the beach/pool this summer...

Kindle is awesome at the beach. Full, bright, sunlight, it is easier to read than a book. I have a cover on mine, and just shake the sand out when I get home.

Plus, you can fire up the wireless, go to ESPN and check scores.

I got a Kindle for Christmas & have already read a couple books.
I love it.
You can adjust the type size to what ever suits you best.
It's easy on the eyes.
When you turn it off & on again, it remembers where you left off--no more bookmarks.
If you're unsure of the meaning of a word, just move the cursor there & see the definition instantly.
I read faster & with less effort w/ the Kindle than w/ dead-tree books.

I just finished the seventh novel in the Outlander series, after reading these over several years. Love them all!!! They are massive brick books for sure.

I'll keep it for you if you wish - An Echo in the Bone.

I'm with you - I love reading and books of all kinds and the kindle will be just one more way to devour them in addition to real books.
