Post stuff you shouldn't and people will comment/react.

The more extreme your posts, the more extreme the responses.

Most of us have also gotten a great deal of grief (some years after the fact) for oversharing, PUI, or posting when we should have read it, then deleted instead.

This is for Kurt, and all you scientific types: Why is melted cheese just so much better than solid cheese?

Because warming it releases more flavor and the warm gooshy texture makes your mouth even happier. :D

Melting/warming cheese is like letting red wine breathe.

My point

I have welcomed over 17,000 members to this forum, most of them personally, and sent out good vibrations to millions others. I like grilled cheese and glad Jim also had my idea of a grilled cheese restaurant and opened one in an airstream in Seaside. Perfection! I recommend putting on shoes that are one size bigger and getting a cheese sammich today on Scenic 30A. Life is good.

Too bad it's not a good day for fishing. Or a long stroll on a pier. Not necessarily a short one.

This is exactly my point. The pier sentence was not necessary and if you find that funny I feel sorry for you. People cannot voice their opinion on here with fear of getting a negative and sarcastic response such as the one above, Kurt. Jut give it up. I want to thank the kind people who have stood up for me because I am tired of doing it alone and appreciate that there are some good people on here and people that care about the feeling of others when they post. I am done with this and I hope this is the end of it.

Thank you

If this is a warm welcome to The Meltdown...than I'm sure Jim appreciates the 'exposure' . 'Eek!' & 'laughing' is a great review for a new restaurant:sarc:

Wow! 17,000 members and yet just a handful of posters...maybe you haven't warmed as many hearts as you'd like to think!?!

It's never a bad day for fishing, Kurt :) The sharks are ALWAYS hungry...care to join me for that long walk on a short pier? ;-)

Ahhh...it IS fun saying mean things! Now I understand!! Come on everybody! Join in the fun and let's see who can be the most wickedly mean! :sarc:

Thank you so much for seeing what I am and not finding it funny as they say it is just in jest. Some of the sarcastic remarks responsible parties make on here ruins it for the rest of us. Some obviously think they can say what they want and others cannot. Obviously myself and one other person are the only ones big enough to apologize for what we have said to hurt others or speakinng out when too angry. I am a kind person, I try to help people and animals, others apparently like to do just the opposite. As I said before to those who find this funny, how old are you? Maybe you are still in high school and no one knows it because this is how teenagers act and I've seen a lot on t.v. about bullying others and what happens to some when they are bullied and I would think things were getting better and people were paying attention. Not that I am in any way going to let this bother me - I have too much to do otherwise. Now can we stop this catty post and get back to being responsible, sensible adults and just state opinions about things that matter and not throw sarcastic remarks about people in as well? PLEASE!

Kidding

I'm not sure Kurt was really talking about anyone specifically. I certainly didn't take it that way. I thought this thread was just one of those nonsensical threads that people just say goofy things on. It was for funn. I was the only one who brought Heartbren into this, and , again, I am sorry for that.

Again, I have to say that these forums are not the place to pour your heart out, especially if you are stressed. This is a public forum. You have to remember you are sending out your thoughts and feelings to strangers.

About a year ago, a wise poster said it's OK to type out whatever you think or feel, but just don't hit the send button. Type what you feel, then take a deep breathe, and re-read what you said, and think to yourself, do I really want to say this to the world. I have typed many long diatribes and just deleted them because they were dumb, boring, or just plain lame.

In short, most people come here for funn. We kid each other all the time. I don't think any of us are really mean-spirited, and hopefully we can continue to be as candid as we have always been. Maybe Kurt can open a new forum called "Sensitive, Thoughtful Feelings Only".

I'M KIDDING!!!

I already addressed the fact I should have not posted when ANGRY on the other site and I apologized as did you. All kidding aside, it just is not funny. Was that absolutely necessary? I think you could have left the last sentence out, but you obviously have to get a dig in. I just don't get all this negative humor. It just is not funny and I think a lot of others do not think so either.

I am with you, perhaps we should just learn to be the same way instead of being the kind people we are that don't make fun of others. Some people's sense of humor is quite warped I'm seeing. They just cannot stop either. Thanks for sticking with me.

Thanks

Ok if the conversation is about the cheese place on 30A then it is funny.

If it's some back way of poking fun at people because their opinion is different, then sorry I don't find it funny either.

It is easy to say " lighten up" but it is also just as easy to say "grow up".

Heartbren had already apologized on the thread, explained she was at a sensitive place right now, worried about Diane, and yet here she is being made the butt of some joke.

Funny, honestly I don't think so if truly the intent of this thread was to poke fun at someone else. Hopefully that was not the intent.

Thank you Minnie. I am appalled that this thread was even started and by someone who is in charge of it who still has never apologized for doing so and I guess never will.

Let's see: there's Heartbren, Glenn Beck, Charlie Sheen... does John McCain count?

Thank you for not mentioning Mel Gibson. Contrary to popular belief, he is always right about everything, and can do no wrong.

You haven't seen mean until you go to the political forum. I think this thread is a big misunderstanding. Ya'll are taking things way too personally IMO. This IS a forum on the internet. Yep, people get nasty. Yep, people make fun. Yep, it's not for everyone. I've tried to stay away from SoWal.com in the past and it's never worked for me. It's like a trainwreck....I really don't want to see it, but i have to anyway.
Get some grip, get some humor, get some thick skin, or don't post here. It's as simple as that.

Gee, is it my imagination or did Kurt's first post about the Meltdown and not the restaurant, dissapear from this thread. Oh, besides the one about the short pier? :dunno::eek::shock::shark:
