just got this email ;

Three old ladies named Gertrude, Maude, and Pat were sitting on a park bench having a quiet conversation when a flasher approached from across the park.

The man came up to the ladies, stood right in front of them, opened his trench coat and exposed himself. Gertrude and Maude both had a stroke.

But Pat, being older and feebler, bless her heart, couldn't reach that far

yep, i listened to all of them too. my best friend's dad listened to nothing BUT country music. I used to spend the night at her house and we'd wake up in the morning to him singing at the top of his lungs "May the Bird of Paradise fly up your nose"....don't remember who sang that..but we used to give him hail about his country music. Loved Sonny & Cher...still love Cher. Of course, the Beatles were the all time absolute best--imho. Remember those hair styles on Tammy, Conway, Dolly, Loretta, etc? We called those Texas Pile-ups...

I know...those were the good old days! I think the bird of paradise song was sung my Earnest Tubbs. My mom loved music of all kinds, she played the piano by ear and wrote songs and music herself. I was a toddler when most of that was popular but my mom says one of the first two songs i sang was in my high chair snapping my fingers to "downtown" by Petulia Clark and "I've got you babe" by sonny and cher. Okay, I actually was not talking at the time but she said i would snap my fingers and sing "downtown, downtown" and "I got ooh babe"

ok...now I feel old. :blink:
Seriously though, it's funny how very small children just connect to certain tunes. I remember my daughter, whom you'll meet in about three weeks, just loved that song "Workin my way Back to you Babe"..she could barely talk, but she could sing that song!
