Already done and the IRA cashed my contribution to the "AIG Executive Compensation/Golfing Retreat Fund."

So is it better to get a refund or pay in? My thought has always been that either way you "owe" the same amount of tax so I want to make the interest off "my money" instead of them using "my money.". That leads me to always paying in at the end. I am not knocking extra deductions just when we choose to pay, up front versus April 15th (or later). What do others think?

That is exactly how I always do it. My accountant used to get so upset with me! But, until they pay me interest on my money that I lend to them to use, they won't get it til I owe it.......I push the envelope just a bit sometimes! ;-)

Oh, so I see I wasn't the only one who guffawed at the choices. ;-)

Scooterbug, you are an eternal optimist. Refund. :rotfl:

Scooterbug Inc. had a crappy fiscal year - like many folks, so just trying to keep the ol' tax glass half full. :D

Yes, you may lose a minimal amount on interest, but I always prefer to have money due rather than owed. I think of it as tax insurance and the interest is the premium.

Now that I'm not self-employed anymore and it's just dragged out of my paycheck, I'm just happy to get it back. My accountant used to tell me to pay in quarterly or monthly, too, but the cash flow just didn't work out for that.

I'm still for fair tax, myself.

"I know that the so-and-sos in government waste my money. I know that without intelligent opposition, the government just keeps inventing new ways to spend.
But for the right reason, paying a tax is more than a necessary evil. It is a downright privilege. It is a happy price tag for civilized society."

:rotfl:...after reading your post and your sig, I have decided we need some of what is REALLY in that glass!

I feel downright pucking privileged and can't wait to start paying more and more and more!:clap::clap::clap: When can we start????:D :D

It's $5.99 a bottle pinot grigio! Good for washing down $1.99 lb chicken fajitas!

Basically I can biatch, or I can be happy that because the year sucked so much I am getting a tax refund ............ so other checks don't bounce. Deep down I know it's not the best year-end scenario, but it's all about the little bits of happy you get when you squint REALLY hard.

Since you're swept up in the mood to pay, I think it's time for another Alaqua supermarket sweep and delivery - puppy tax time! :D
