:sosad: I'm sad. I need someone to cheer me up! Got a phone call from my son this morning! The ob/gyn appointment this morning was the first to hear the heartbeat. Ultrasound was done, no heartbeat detected. A scan was done internally as a second look to look at things and detect heartbeat, no heartbeat detected then either. Should have been detectable at 7 weeks. Only thing detected was internal bleeding! Apparent miscarriage! Wondering now if this had occurred a while back as no ultrasound was done until now to check for heartbeat, they do them around 7 weeks. D & C scheduled for tomorrow! Needless to say there is alot of heartbreak right now, and tears! D-I-L says she is not going to try anymore! I was just in Walmart last night looking at furniture and car seats, clothes, etc, thinking how much fun it was going to be! What a sad day!

Oh, I'm so sorry. There's always a reason these things happen. It's better earlier than later to find out. I'm sure it was heartbreaking as I remember how excited I was for that first appointment. Now is just probably not the right time. Together you will all get through it.

Sorry to hear Lady. :sosad: Your DIL sounds young and I am sure there will be many more opportunity for her to get pregnant. I hope the doctor explained that it is very common (1 in 4 pregnancies) and even more so with the first pregnancy. I am sure you will have your chance again.

Sorry to hear about that. Although it happens alot, it's tough when it happens to your family

Tell them NOT to stop trying. My wife and I (and our son) are living proof as to what can happen when you don't give up.

Hang in there.

Oh I am so sorry to hear this. A family friend who was in her late 40s a few years ago--kids moved away from home to attend college, got the surprise of her life when she found out she was pregnant. Just as she began preparing and getting excited, she went for a checkup and the pregnancy had dissolved and the body absorbed it at about 9 weeks. This was very sad for them and very bizzare, but apprently it happens a lot.

Thanks everyone! Very disappointing to me also. A grandbaby I will never know or get to hold! I cannot keep the tears from welling up in my eyes here at work!
I am so sorry what you and the family are going through. So disappointing and heart breaking. I will keep them in my prayers and I know God will bless them with a child someday.

So sorry for your family. Be very patient with yourselves. It is only natural to grieve for the loss of all the possibilities a new life would have brought.
You sound like a loving caring family and we all wish this hurt would ease.
