I've been on a free for all (aka and eat it all) since Thanksgiving but tomorrow is my kick off of healthy eating and regular gym time again. It could get a little ugly around my house but I'm planning meals for the rest of the week and have bought some lovely looking apples and pears and what I hope will be a tasty pineapple and I leave the world of refined sugars behind again for a while. I know I'll feel great in about two weeks!

Good luck. Just stick to the plan.

I've just been put on the GERD diet. Kind of difficult when my favorite food is Caprese and my favorite beverages are white wine and Diet Coke. All of these are big no's for GERD.

What do I eat at Pizza Bar?
Caprese? No, due to tomatoes and non-low-fat cheese.
Filetto? No, it's fried.
Sausage pizza? No, due to sausage, tomato sauce, and non-low-fat cheese.

Guess I'll just nom on ... :dunno:

I am going to attempt to follow the fat flush diet (Ann Louise Gittleman) for the health benefits not to loose weight, it works on both tho. I will follow it as close as I can. (still can't give up white wine completely!)

Well, I had cheerios and skim milk for bfast, a pear for a snack, protein bar and apple for lunch (was training a class today so no time for a real lunch), protein bar snack. I'm about to make pork loin chops, rice and sauteed veggies for dinner with some fresh pineapple for my evening snack. I've been eating a lot of sugar the last 6 weeks and am hoping replacing it with fruit will help ease the transition!! I did treadmill 2 miles this am, did a 15 minute brisk walk at lunch and then walked another 2 miles this evening but then it got too chilly so I had to call it quits. Day one is mostly down and I didn't feel the urge to snap anyone's neck so I call it a success!

My usual plan is 1300-1500 calories per day of cereal or oatmeal with skim milk, fruit snacks, protein bar or sandwich lunches, lean meat, rice or potato and veggies for supper. I've exercised 1 hour 20 minutes cardio total today but will up that to 1.5-2 hours cardio most daily with weights 4 days/week.

Be careful with the protein bars - some of them are total diet busters due to fat/calorie content.

Yogurt (again check the labels for fat and sugars) is also a good snack w/ health benefits.

I surfed through some diet reality show and the trainer lady was making people drink water w/ a dash of lemon juice - dunno why, but she said it was so much better than just water (which at 0 calories or preservatives I find hard to beat). Anyone know? :dunno:

It's supposed to work as a mild diuretic and may promote peristalsis.
