I made a really nice lean roast in my crockpot this week, seasoned with garlic powder, onion powder, pepper and browned in Pam then crockpot with reduced sodium beef broth and a couple of onions, added little red fingerling potatoes and carrots at the end-yummy and pretty healthy. Made easy drop biscuits to go with the meal-a weight watchers recipe that i found long ago with self rising flour (3 cups), FF plain yogurt (4T) and skim milk(1.5cup)-I add a dash of salt and some black pepper to them, only 50 calories (1pt) each and quite fluffy and tasty. I tried with wheat flour and it was a heavy hockey puck, I have plans to experiment more with healthier flour options so I'll report back.

Leftover roast meat makes a great spread for sandwhiches, I did 3 oz beef, about 3/4T miracle whip light, 3/4 T hellmans light, a sprinkle of pepper, garlic powder and celery seed and chopped up a dill pickle-toasted some whole wheat bread-yummy yummy leftover sandwich!

So last night I had Mongolian Grill with one of my college friends, it's a monthly date. I've decided that may be the easiest way to eat out when on a diet, get a little meat, a little noodles, some steam rice and lots of veggies, pick your own sauce amounts-how handy is that and better than a salad or sandwich with broth soup-my usual dining out option!!

I'm planning to get a new bodybugg this week, I checked and my watch receiver from my old one still works, it just needed a new battery so I can get one for $160 + tax at a local gym or $150 + shipping and tax from the site. I'll let ya'll know how it goes!

I didn't do so well over the weekend. Trying to get back on track! I did get an app for my phone called Lose it! I'm not sure it is the best app though. Seems like I have to enter a lot of info and I'm not sure I can keep up with that. I might have to try a different app.

DailyBurn is a good free website to track intake and output. It is free and they have free app for your iphone. The BodyMedia site has a pretty decent food "dictionary" and so far it has worked out for me really well. The subscription for the whole thing was like $6 a month.

BeachbumAggie I'm interested in seeing how you'll like you new bodybugg. Bluemtnrunner thanks for the link.
I cooked lentil soup yesterday from Ina Garten. Then I made fried rice from this month's Cooking Light.

I am bummed out because I decided to start working out on Monday. I have been chicken because I'm trying to avoid knee surgery (torn meniscus). The surgeon said I could start walking and see how it goes. Didn't go well as my knee is still hurting today. Dunno what to do. Don't wanna swim because seeing me in a swimsuit might give someone a heart attack. plus the chlorine will fry my highlights which costs too much.

You might have luck on the crossramp or eliptical-easier on your joints they say.

ok, so I had software issues with my new bodybugg-we couldn't get the old software to strip from our desktop so we couldn't install the new so I ran to my cousin's house on Monday afternoon and set up my bodybugg there. I've kicked up my workout since I got it because I like to see those numbers go by at the gym!! I'm not entering my food into the program-too much trouble, I just write it in a food journal instead.

I'm two days shy of a month back on the wagon and I've lost 14lbs eating between 1400-1600 calories/day and am back up to being able to complete an hour of cardio in the morning and evening (when I have the time). Weights are being added back in this weekend-I'll be a lean mean beaching machine when I hit Seagrove in June!!!

Way to go Beach Bum Aggie!! All of your hard work is paying off! I have lost 12 pounds since Christmas and have about 8 more to go before swimsuit season. Cutting out sweets and exercising an hour or more 5 days a week has really made a difference. I would love to start back doing weights because I know how much it increases your metabolism, but I hurt my shoulder in a four wheeler accident a few years ago, and it seems like I always injure it everytime I start back on them. Any tips on toning your arms without putting stress on your shoulders?

Go Beachgirl! I had gone totally off sweets but was craving at night so I have a 100 calorie ice cream sandwich most nights now and it makes me happy.

I wonder if you could use resistance bands for your upper body rather than weights? I would think that would be less stressful on your shoulder. You could still lift your legs.
