If that were me, I'd have been the one talking WAY too much~

That's why Mr. K told me to stay quiet when he got pulled over on the way back from SoWal last Fall!! You and I would be put in jail for disturbing the police!

Both are good, but the Beetles had a depth of music that goes beyond most bands. Anyband can play songs with four chords, and some do it well, but only musical geniuses can do what the Beetles did. They wrote some of the rules found in today's music. Of course, there will always be a genius or two to come along and break all the rules, eg - Jimi Hendrix.

Speaking of Hendrix and the Beetles, I recall seeing an interview of Paul McCartney (I think), where Paul said that they had just finished writing a song and played it for the first time to an audience. Jimi Hendrix attended that show sat in the front row. The next night the Beetles went to see Hendrix perform. He was supposed to be up and coming. Paul said that when Jimi played the Beetle's new song, "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," their mouths dropped to the floor. Jimi had heard the song played only once, the night before, yet he came out and performed it with amazing skills.

With apologies to those of you too young to remember; I am burning CD's today for hubby's birthday and thought of an ongoing argument that we've had for years. Beatles or Stones? I love the Stones, but the Beatles will always be it for me  . You?

Stones (Except for that disco crap they put out)

Stones. In 4th grade my parents went to the concert when they went on the 40 Licks tour. I went to school the next day with the tshirt they brought me back and lied to my class and said I went to the concert. It's a lie I've never gotten over. Talking about the lie helps me cope.

You can't really belt and boogie to the Beatles. At least not the way I do it!
