Here's a picture of my mailbox and front of the property in Northern MN from yesterday. 12" of snow in about 2 days.

Ok, finally got a better size pic to show what it really looks like. It really is beautiful. Especially since it was my Wife who took this pic back in MN while I am here in sowal enjoying 24 hours of continuous rain.

Hey krafty, how's it going there? Stay safe!

.

River is still rising, but at a slower rate. It's historic. Something we've never seen before. For a time today already both I-29 and I-94 had outflow only from Fargo, no going into the city. They opened it up again a little while ago, but there may be more evacuations necessary.

Say some prayers for the people in Fargo/Moorhead and for the dikes and levees to hold!

Thanks.

Amen to that. Hopefully the colder temps today are helping to slow things.

I was there back about 9 years ago when the city flooded. The company I worked for was loading up busses of employees who wanted to volunteer to sandbag and drove them from Warroad to Grand Forks. Same happened in Roseau a few years after that.

It was heart wrenching to watch people make the decision to voluntarily flood their basements using firemen in an effort to keep city sewer from backing up into the homes. Insurance companies were saying they wouldn't cover the home if they did, but then the damage is far worse if they didn't. :dunno:

Fargo is a mess, but they think the Red may be at its crest and will remain at record levels for days.

Our whole state is in dire straights with full creeks and rivers plus overland flooding and tons of snow pack left. We're supposed to get rain on Monday. Not good.

We're on our way out to help some friends sandbag their property. High school students across the state will be out of school and sandbagging all next week. Keep the prayers coming! Thanks!

Good for the river now, but colder temps can also bring....yes, another blizzard. Snow turns to water at some point.....Bismarck was supposed to get 8 inches by tomorrow and they already 15. We're in the 8-14 inch corridor. I feel very bad for the robins. They came back WAY too early.
