I don't, but I've never noticed if my eyes were dry. I hadn't thought of goggles, actually. Hmmmm...........

It has to be REALLY cold to get that frosty. It was -21 and breezy yesterday. When the ice gets too thick you just take off your glove and put your finger on the eyes and it melts away like magic;-)

Better question. Why are you posting at 4:36 AM???

Wow! Forgot about the Spring thaw floods! Sometimes if you can keep the area around the wells clear by using the snow/ice on the ground to direct water away from the house it helps. All about the drainage and keeping drains clear.

'93 was the year I learned to efficiently fill a sandbag! :D

Thanks, but we've done that as much as we can, our yard is a glacier with water on top. It has never been like this before. I think we are going to get some sandbags from the city, but there are lots of people way worse off than we are. All the universities in Fargo are closed so the students can fill the 2 million bags. (not kidding about the #) They are working 24/7 to keep up. Even in '97 (when the whole city of Grand Forks was evacuated) there wasn't this much water over the interstates. It's been a crazy winter/spring!

'97 was a big flood year for us too. Speaking from experience, sandbag early and use 3x as many as you think you'll need.

Using the students as labor is typical. Papa Scooterbug thought it great fun decades ago when they let the boys out of high school to fill sandbags along the Mississippi. Then someone got bit during a game of "rat baseball" and put the kibosh on that!
