At 700 Billion due shortly, I think we will be taxed back to the stone age with or without Obama. And, China doesnt want us, they just want us to keep their economy going.:dunno:

The final bill will likely need add-on's to get support. It will likely be more than $700B.

Time to get our troops home and bill Iraq for the US Military Action. How much money have we lent other countries? How can we call in our assets? I am wondering why this hasn't been mentioned in the media.

In the future we need to be self reliant and sustain ourselves and not rely on other countries for our food and fuel, etc. I wonder how many countries we have helped in the past are offering their support to us now?

Most Republicans I know are privately appalled by Bush's lack of focus on domestic issues and his getting us in a mess in Iraq. His complicity in running up huge deficits helped lose the Congress for the Republicans. I consider Bush to be the Republican Jimmy Carter.:bang: However, Bush is history shortly and we must move forward. Of the two choices we have, McCain is the only hope for truly fixing this country's problems. Obama will tax us back to the stoneage and then sign the country over to the Chinese.:dunno:

:bang:This is what is so frustrating, if you were so appalled why did you put him back in office, his lack of focus and involving us in Iraq took place before the last election. You chose Bush over McCain in 2000 because W's supporters called him the "gay candidate, said his Banladeshi daughter was black, that he was mentally unstable because of his 5-1/2 yrs. as a pow, Rove suggested he fathered a child with a black prostitute and committed treason as a pow among many other things. Now McCain is a war hero to conservatives but there was a war hero in the last election but the same type of false smears reappeared, he didn't earn his Purple Hearts, the swift boating and on and on.
It was absolutely pathetic when delegates wore purple heart bandaids.
Not believing Kerry would be a good President is no reason to belittle his service to our country with lies. The one thing Bush could have done last night to prove he cared about this nation would have been to resign and hand over the Presidency to Dick Cha----wait a damn minute, what the hell am I saying! Forget that. I need a beer or two or three....:drink:

This is your best post to date. The truth hurts sometimes. Can you acknowledge that not everyone who voted for Bush the second time around did so because of his stellar performance? I have realized that voting the less of two evils is no vote at all and that is why I am on a quest to vote for a candidate this time around.

I also do not believe that Kerry would have been able to stop this economic crisis. Politics makes for strange bedfellows. Many politicians have cheated on us and the ones that did not, but knew what was happening, are just as liable, IMO.

What "learned people"?

Bob Rubin (goofer calls him perhaps the greatest Tsy secretary ever), Warren Buffett, the greatest investor since Benjamin Graham, and Paul Volcker, Fed chair under Reagan who is credited with getting us out of stagflation.

These are great and learned men, and they are working closely with Obama. As long as Obama is listening to them, I will listen to him.

Yes I will agree to that, my own mother voted for him twice because she believed he was a good Christian man. I have no idea what she thinks now, I don't bring it up. I do not belong to any political party, I vote for the person across party lines. I voted for kerry and your right, he probably either could not or would not have done anything but I would have voted for a thumb tack instead of Bush.
If McCain is elected he will be my President and I will support him, but my support for Obama goes further than just believing he may be a better President. I need to know what Bush has done to my beloved country. We will not find out with a Republican President.
